The Ramón María Aller Astronomical Observatory is a unique multifunctional centre within the Galician University System that reports directly to the USC Management. Its main missions are: dissemination as a Cosmos Interpretation Centre, as well as support for teaching and astronomical research thanks to the significant resources incorporated in recent decades. It also has a manual weather station in operation with the longest series of records in the city of Santiago de Compostela. In collaboration with the AEMET, it has also had an automatic station since 1987.
