The Ramón María Aller Astronomical Observatory is a unique multifunctional centre in the Galician University System that depends directly on the Management of the USC and whose main missions are: dissemination as an Interpretation Centre of the Cosmos, as well as support for teaching and astronomical research thanks to the important resources incorporated in recent decades. It also has an operational manual meteorological station with the longest series of records in the city of Santiago de Compostela. In collaboration with the AEMET, it has also had an automatic station since 1987.
