1º Situation (Normality)
The following activities will be developed in class:
- Explanation of the theoretical units and grammatical matters which appear in the photocopies put at the students disposal.
- Application of the theory by means of exercises.
- Translation of the technical texts, with the participation of the students, discussing the different approaches, variants and opinions.
The teacher will also recommend some interesting videos in English for the students to watch, and all of them will be object of discussion in class.
In case teaching could not be carried out by these means there is a Contingency Plan available, explained in the Observations section.
1º Situation (Normality)
Owing to mandatory attendance, every lective hour all students will be strictly, carefully followed in their individual work in class, both in every kind of intervention they make and even in their interest and illusion for the subject. Their attitude in class will also be observed. At the end of the year a generic mark will be decided to every student evaluating each one of the last parametres. This generic mark will have the same value as the final exam mark, and the teacher, taking into account both marks, will estimate the final mark for everyone.
Plagiarism or inappropriate use of technologies in the development of any proposed activity, or in any proof or test made by their means will be penalised in the evaluation.
In case teaching could not be carried out by these means there is a Contingency Plan available, explained in the Observations section.
It depends on the English level that each student has. For an optimum preparation of the subject it is considered that the student should dedicate a minimum of one hour per day to the study of the subject.
With the aim of passing this subject, the carrying out of the activities proposed by the teacher and a regular work concerning English are highly recommended.
According to the evolution of COVID-19, in case teaching could not be fundamentally face-to-face class (1º situation), academic activities will develop in 2º situation (distance) or in 3ª situation (closing of facility), preparing a Contingency Plan.
CONTINGENCY PLAN
2º Situation (distance)
We opt for semi-face-to-face teaching, so expositive lessons would rotate, on a weekly basis, between face-to-face teaching and virtual teaching. Interactive teaching would always be face-to-face class.
Continuous evaluation and partial / final exams:
Final or partial exams represent a 60% of the global grade
Continuous evaluation represents 40% of the global grade: Students will demonstrate acquired knowledge by means of delivering various works.
Plagiarism or inappropriate use of technologies in the development of any proposed activity, or in any proof or test made by their means will be penalised in the evaluation.
3º Situation (Exclusive virtual teaching)
Teaching will be carried out by means of USC virtual tools (Teams, Virtual Campus, Forms...)
Continuous evaluation. Students will be evaluated by means of delivered works
Plagiarism or inappropriate use of technologies in the development of any proposed activity, or in any proof or test made by their means will be penalised in the evaluation.
