Lab Research Profile

We are committed with the translation of ideas from the university through novel pharmaceutical technology. We are specialized in solving biopharmaceutical problems associated to biological drugs (RNA molecules, monoclonal antibodies, proteins, peptides) and antigens (nanovaccines).

Current work in our laboratory includes:

  • Creating new conceptual approaches for delivering protein drugs and genes across complex barriers in the body, such as the blood-brain barrier, the nasal and ocular and intestinal barriers (Projects named as TClock4AD, Lilly, DIAGBI).
  • Designing and developing new nanocarriers for antigen delivery (protein and RNA vaccines) (NOSEVAC).
  • Designing and developing nano-oncological therapies consisting of multifunctional nanocarriers targeted to the tumor cells, the tumor associated macrophages (TAM) and the lymphatic vessels (ONCO-siRNA, Recytsea, Oncoliberix).

All our research activity is part of multidisciplinary consortia, in which experts in various fields and industries are involved. The on-going collaborative research projects are described below
