November 30, 2022.- The Spanish Forum of Innovative Companies – Foro Español de Empresas Innovadoras (FEI) has distinguished María José Alonso in its annual awards. The ceremony of the‘ X FEI Recognitions’ was held yesterday in Madrid.
María José Alonso, Professor of Biopharmaceutics and Pharmaceutical Technology at the University of Santiago de Compostela (USC), has been recognized in the category of ‘Researcher / Innovator 2022’. Professor Alonso thanked FEI and said she was “very pleased to receive this award in recognition of our efforts towards innovation”.

Maria José Alonso is a pioneer in the field of nanomedicine, where she has made numerous discoveries that have placed her in the top ten in Pharmacology and being on ‘The Power List’ of the most influential researchers in the field of biopharmaceutical compounds. Alonso has coordinated several research consortia funded by the WHO, the Gates Foundation and the European Commission, participating in numerous international projects. She is the author of more than 300 scientific contributions with more than 34,000 citations and inventor of 22 families of patents.

Together with Professor Alonso, in this 2022 edition of the FEI Recognitions the company PLD SPACE and the Barcelona Supercomputing Center (BSC) were also awarded.
