Santiago de Compostela, 25 February 2021- Our colleague Eleni Samaridou has just been recognized with the Julián Francisco Suárez Freire Prize for young researchers, awarded by the Royal Academy of Pharmacy of Galicia.
This award, sponsored by Bidafarma and Cofano, recognizes original excellent pieces of work published by young researchers, carried out in a Galician institution, on a topic related to drugs, from their early stages of development to the distribution chain.
Eleni Samaridou has received this award for a paper that describes a new nanotechnology which allows the delivery of microRNA (miRNA) from the nose directly to the brain, as a new therapeutic for Alzheimer’s disease, which has been published in the prestigious journal Biomaterials in 2020.
