Funding programme promoted by the Xunta de Galicia. This programme provides structural and continuous funding to certain research groups, known as competitive reference groups, which are characterised by their number of scientific publications, their ability to raise funds at international, national and regional level, their capacity to train and attract young researchers and their habit of collaborating with other research groups, institutions and companies. The main objective of the programme is to allow to these groups to develop their research activities in a stable way.

The Research Group in Mathematical Engineering has been recognized as a Competitive Reference Research Group from 2006.
