Single-stimulus data versus preferential choice data in environmental quality
studies. Environmental quality studies are of great interest in the study of individualenvironment
relationship. However, the theoretical and methodological differences
existing between researchers have hindered progress in the knowledge about this phenomenon.
One of the main differences between the different studies lies in the response
format used by the subjects to assess the environment. Our research compares
the results obtained in environmental quality assessments using two different techniques:
semantic differential and preference ratings. The results obtained show that there
are clear differences between the solutions provided by the analysis of both type of
data.
