Background: SARS-CoV-2 is a coronavirus with high pathogenic and infective capacity, but lower lethality than others. It is necessary to start paying attention to
possible sequelae of the high number of survivors. Based on the available evidence, the neurotropism of SARS-CoV-2 may be similar or
even higher than previously shown by other coronaviruses. Neurological involvement has been reported in both case studies
as retrospective. Information on the effects of Influenza A, SARS or MERS are noted as common complaints of recovered persons
concentration and memory difficulties.
Objectives: To determine the incidence of cognitive alterations in adult patients recovered from COVID-19; identify the factors of
risk; and describe the neurocognitive profile in the medium term.
Method: Ambispective cohort study among adults who have been diagnosed with COVID-19 and hospitalized, attending to the
neurological symptomatology. The follow-up period will be 6 months. The general cognitive state will be evaluated,
attention / processing speed, memory and fatigue.
