Research on Field Dependence-Independence cognitive style has started from the asumption that this dimension is not value biased, that is, at both poles of the dimension we come to studies about the relationship between Field Dependence.Independence and achievement on the main areas of school and academic curricula, we find that Field Independent and achievement on the main areas of school and academic curricula, we find that Field Independent subjects usually show better performances.
In the present paper we present a review of the literature on this topic, wichresylts seem to put aside the idea that Field Dependence-Independence is a neutral dimension at least in the Educational System.
