ASTRONOMICAL DIFFUSION ACTIVITIES IN GALICIA.

The Ramón María Aller Astronomical Observatory of the USC developed during the months of July, August, September, and October, 2019 a wide range of astronomical outreach activities in different municipalities through which the Jacobean Route runs, within the project "O camiño das estrelas. As estrelas do camiño". Its purpose is to highlight the meaning of the Milky Way and its relationship with the Jacobean act, explaining under what conditions it marks the road to Compostela. In addition, the project will introduce participants to the world of astronomy through conferences and astronomical observations at night both with the naked eye and with telescopes. This is an activity that is part of the "O teu Xacobeo" program funded by the Consellería de Cultura e Turismo of the Xunta de Galicia.

The municipalities of Allariz, Arzúa, Barbadás, Barco de Valdeorras, Boqueixón, Fisterra, O Grove, Lalín, Mondoñedo, Monforte de Lemos, Noia, Ordes, Padrón, Portomarín, Rianxo, Ribadeo, Santa Comba, Santiago de Compostela, Sanxenxo, Teo and Vedra participate in the activities of this outreach program.
