Professor Luís García Río, Group Leader at CiQUS, has been appointed as Associate Editor of RSC Advances since September 2015. Edited by the Royal Society of Chemistry, RSC Advances is an international, peer-reviewed journal, covering all of the chemical sciences, including multidisciplinary and emerging areas. The criteria for publication in this journal include that the work must be high quality, well conducted and advance the development of the field. Articles submitted to the journal are evaluated by international referees for the overall quality and accuracy of the science presented.

Starting in late 80th as a group interested in organic reaction mechanisms, it has evolved towards a more diverse group with deep expertise in reactivity in general, seeking a deep knowledge of reactivity patterns yield important useful and practical information.
Their areas of interest are wide and diverse, from microheterogeneous media such as microemulsions or liposomes to host-guest complexes, from cyclodextrins and similar compounds and even mixed systems surfactant-cyclodextrins to new reaction media like green solvents such as ionic liquids.
