Journals Applied Econometrics and International Development (AEID) and Regional and Sectoral Economic Studies (RSES)

RULES FOR SUBMISSION OF ARTICLES. Updated 15th June of 2021 and 11th January 2022

Editorial Policy. These journals are refereed journals, published since year 2001, included in Econ-Lit, SCOPUS, IBSS, and other selected indexes of Economics research. They have reached high World positions at Ideas.Repec by the number of downloads per item.  For 2021-2025 we can afford to publish only a limited number of articles per year. Please respect the following rules:

1. SubmissionsAuthors may send submissions to the Editor (Professor Maria-Carmen Guisan) at the following e-mail address: euroamericanassociation@gmail.com), indicating (well in "Subject" or inside the message) if the article is submitted for journal AEID (with main priority on international development related with production, productivity, employment, education and quality of life) , for journal RSES (comparisons of production in regions or sector of one or more countries) or for both journals (AEID+RSES).

2. Authors are required to indicate their academic degree and  institutional position, as well as their Website at Ideas-Repec if they are registered (or other Website with some of their free downloadable articles or documents so we may see their background).

3. Acknowledge of articles. 1) In the case of articles tha fit to the main rules (main focus on economic development, data visibility, relation with previous studies published in the journal, etc.), we usually acknowledge receipt within a month after reception, and start the revision process. Authors of revised articles usually receive communication of the decision about publication or suggestions for revisions in a 3 months period. 2) In the case of articles that do not fit to the main rules we will try to try to answer to authors in a period of three months, when possible. After 3 months without information authors may request information about the status of their articles.

4, Contents: Priority is given to the analysis of economic development. Some tables of econometric tests may be included as supplementary information in the Annex, but in the main text the priority is for data visibility and economic analysis.

4.1. Data, conclusions and citation requirements: Tables and/or graphs with visibility of selected data are usually a requirement, as well as definition of variables, measurements units and sources. Citation of one of more interesting articles, related with the subject and/or with economic development in the country or area of the study, previously published in our journals, or in other journals, is usually required. We wish that our journals evolve through time as a set of related contributions for economic development and not as a set of isolated articles.

4.2.  Size and presentation: The copy should be written in Word, letter Times New Roman size 11, including the title and names of authors (family name in full capital letters). Page size is 18 cm (centimeters) wide and 25 cm high, number of pages usually between 8 and 14 (besides may be an on line Annex). Do not send pdf copy because it will be prepared by the Editorial team.

4.3. An Abstract of no more than 100 words should precede the article and present a clear idea of the main conclusions, methods and line of reasoning. Provide one or more JEL codes and a maximum of 5 keywords below the summary. Manuscripts should be divided into sections usually with no more than five. Include tables and/or graphs, of data of the main variables, within the text (in Word format easy to modify, not as fixed scanned images).Footnotes should be limited to a very small number. References are usually limited to a maximum of 2 pages and include some relevant articles previously published, listed alphabetically (for example Maddala,G.S.(1992),

5. Copyright: Submission implies that authors accept that they vest copyright in the Euro-American Association of Economic Development Studies, without limitations, although the Association authorizes them to publish their articles in the future, in books of collected works, if they mention that the article has been published in our journal, giving full reference of the journal name and Website. Other possibilities are subject to previous permission from the Association.
