Provide students with a basic Knowledge of the worldwide current economy as a frame where Spanish and Galician economy are placed, field where graduated on Business and Management Administration will develop their activity.

Competences about the degree which the subject contributes:
• Ability to elaborate and defend arguments about economic questions at a general level, as well as solving problems about these questions, making use of their knowledge on business reality , theories, models and own scientific methods.
• Knowing the national and international economy, productive sectors, public sector, economic institutions and its evolution.
• Ability to identify, join, and interpret relevant data about questions related to the business field, incorporating in the elaboration of judgements and proposals, the appropriate considerations about its social, scientific or ethical dimension.
• Identifying, having access and handling sources of economic information.
• Develop the analytic ability necessary to raise economic studies.
Specific competences about the subject:
• Knowledge and interpretation of the recent changes in the evolution of the worldwide economy, with special attention to the independent aspect of the elements and relations that shape this reality.
• Understanding the role and working of the international economic institutions.
• Knowledge of the basic concepts of the applied economics necessary to understand the context of the subject.
• Becoming familiar with the economy press, especially topics referred to the worldwide economy.

The assessment is based on:
a) continuous assessment system where all the activities that must be made throughout the course, are taken into account (valuing aspects such as clarity and exhibition ability, the commands of the concepts related to the matter or active participation);
b) final exam about the theoretical and practical knowledge developed throughout the concepts explanation related to the matter.
The assessment system will take into account all the activities carried out by students: active participation in the case analysis, discussion and review of readings, articles or press releases, presentation and exhibition of works, completion of review of contents, etc.. Attendance both expositive and interactive class is mandatory (o que especifique o profesorado).
There are two opportunities to pass the subject. Students who do not pass the subject at the first opportunity will be entitled to a second, which will be shown on your transcript when it exceeds the rating achieved.
The assessment system is the following:
First ordinary opportunity
A) Continuous Assessment: Class participation, resolution and participation in the case analysis, discussion of readings, presentation of papers, checks and other activities related to interactive classes. Weight in final grade: 30%.
B) Final exam. Weight in final grade: 70%.
Second opportunity
The same assessment system that at the first opportunity will be used, i.e. there will be a final exam again, with the weighting fixed for the first opportunity, which will add to the score achieved in the continuous evaluation.
According to Normativa de Permanencia at the USC for Bachelor and Master studies (art. 5.2), the mere attendance and / or participation in any of the activities subject to assessment assumed that the student's final grade is different from NO PRESENTED.

It is recommended the continuous monitoring of on-site classes, as well as the basic and complementary bibliography given by teachers as the programme is developed. Besides it is advisable to look up frequently the main statistics sources recommended by teachers, with the aim of getting used to its use and being able to apply the analysis techniques necessary to the knowledge of the economic reality which is the object of study.
Moreover it is recommended to look up the complementary matter that the teacher indicates as this develops the matter programme. Reading news related to the subject content must be a basic requirement. Furthermore, using tutoring should supply any kind of problem that could arise throughout the learning-teaching process of the matter.
