What are Nanographenes?
In this scientific divulgation video, CIQUS researchers E. Guitián, D. Pérez and D. Peña tell us about Nanographens. Their research group design and synthesize structures of nano-sized graphenes, so they get perfect control over the size and geometry of these compounds.
That research allows CIQUS to participate in the large European project PAMS (Planar Atomic and Molecular Scale devices), which aims to develop electronic devices of sub-nanometer size, in order to get the extreme miniaturization of the equipment used in information technology and communication.
The partners will develop methods to construct molecular devices directly on insulating or semiconducting surfaces, connecting them to the macroscopic world through nanowires.
CIQUS researchers will be responsible for preparing and supplying these special molecular components to the rest of the consortium, which will address their assembly and the study of their properties and performance.
The USC is responsible Professor Diego Peña, along with Enrique Guitián and Dolores Pérez leads the research group COMMO.
