Professor Concepción González Bello, group leader in CiQUS, has been appointed as Academic Editor of the scientific journal PLOS ONE, to recognize her scientist career, which is desenvolved at the moment as principal researcher of González-Bello Group.
Published by the Public Library of Science since 2006, PLOS ONE is a peer-reviewed open access scientific journal. The journal covers primary research from any discipline within science and medicine. By not excluding research on the basis of subject area, PLOS ONE facilitates the discovery of connections between research whether within or between disciplines.
About González-Bello Group
The research group aims to develop updated therapies targeting infectious diseases, in particular, drugs with new mechanisms of action to combat the growth of antibiotic-resistant bacteria.
González-Bello Group is focused on the inhibition of important bacterial pathogens of therapeutic interest, particularly Mycobacterium tuberculosis (tuberculosis), Helicobacter pylori (the causative agent of gastric and duodenal ulcer and it has also been classified as type I carcinogen) and Pseudomonas aeruginosa y Staphylococcus aureus (responsible of hospital or nosocomial infections).
