Two young researchers from CIQUS awarded by the Biological Chemistry Group (Spanish Royal Society of Chemistry)

On the 4th to 6th of February took place in Bilbao the second Biennial Meeting of the Biological Chemistry Group, belonging to the Spanish Royal Society of Chemistry (RSEQ), which was organized in conjunction with the XIV Encuentro Peptídico Ibérico (EPI). This meeting, attended by over 140 researchers, provided a forum for meeting and discussion for scientists interested in this fascinating field, and catalyzes future development of the discipline.

At the meeting, the Biological Chemistry Group awarded three Prizes for the best flash oral communications. Two of them went to the CIQUS´ young researchers María Maneiro and Jesús Mosquera, currently doing their doctoral thesis under the supervision of Concepción González-Bello and Jose Luis Mascareñas and Eugenio Vázquez.

The meeting brought together internationally renowned scientists as Prof. Kevin Praxco (University of Santa Barbara, USA), Nicolas Winssinger (University of Geneva, Switzerland), Daniel Müller (ETZ, Zurich), Teresa Carlomagno (European Molecular Biology Laboratory-EMBL, Germany), Manuel Serrano (National Cancer Research Centre-CNIO, Madrid), Ernest Giralt (Institute for Research in Biomedicine-IRB, Barcelona) and Prof. Leonardo Pardo (Autonomous University of Barcelona).
