Short CV in English: Maria Carmen Guisan, was born in A Corunna, Spain (1947). Graduate and Master in Economics at the Faculty of Economics of Sarriko, Bilbao (Spain) (1970), with a high academic record. Doctor in Economics at the University of Santiago de Compostela (USC) in 1975. Teacher of Econometrics at the University of Santiago de Compostela (Spain) since 1970 to 2017. Honorary Professor since 2017. Personal life: 5th child from a family of 10 children. Married to Luis Concheiro (Professor of Forensic Medicine at the USC, 3 children (specialized in Medicine, Pharmacy and Architecture) and 4 grandchildren. She is Founder President of the Euro-American Association of Economic Development Studies (EAAEDS), association that has published 4 outstanding international journals, for 2001-2024, aimed to improve scientific relationships, in the fields of Economic Development and Applied Econometrics and to foster international cooperation for development (journals AEID, RSES, IJAEQS and EEDI at Ideas.Repec and at https://www.usc.gal/economet/eaat.htm). She got, in year 2024, to be among Top 60 economists, out of more than 60 thousand international researchers, at Ideas.Repec, by total downloads of her articles. She has published more than 150 articles and papers, as well as several books and chapters of books on international development: Europe, Latin America, North America.
