Summary
The objective of this work is to analyze the evolution of the memory of the victims of the 1936 coup in Pontevedra, taking the Adrio family as an example. This family was a direct victim of the genocidal practices on November 12, 1936. However, the violence initiated that year extended over time, also affecting their relatives, who must be integrated into the analysis of the coup violence. Each family managed the trauma in a different way, which influenced how memory was (or was not) transmitted. Therefore, it is necessary to consider the factors that conditioned these dynamics and how, with the passing of generations, hiding the past became increasingly difficult. The retrieval of letters, diaries, and other personal documents, such as the unpublished memoirs of Germán Adrio Mañá (which will be analyzed here) allowed in many cases to uncover truths that had been hidden for decades. Around the 1970s, the victims’ claims began to manifest publicly, although always conditioned by the narrative inherited from the perpetrators. Germán’s diary is presented in this sense as a tool that questions the memory imposed by the executioners and contributes to the construction of a more plural, critical, and less uncomfortable narrative.

Summary
The main objective of this Master's Thesis is to analyze the new functions for defensive heritage through the castles of Alarcón, Belmonte and Garcimuñoz in Cuenca. To do so, first of all, several concepts related to heritage and defensive architecture are defined, the legislation and protection of this type of assets are explained, as well as the specific criteria for their intervention taking into account these new uses. Then, each castle is studied in depth through the analysis of its historical and architectural evolution, the examination of the latest interventions carried out in them and the evaluation of their adequacy to a series of established criteria. In addition, their current functions and their impact at different levels are analyzed: architectural, economic, touristic, cultural and local. The methodology combines literature review, documentary analysis and field work, allowing a comprehensive and critical view of these cultural assets. This study demonstrates that proper heritage management not only favors their conservation, but also allows them to become key tools for territorial development and living symbols of local identity, reinforcing the link between the community and its heritage.

Summary
The historical, religious, and cultural connections between Santiago de Compostela and Pistoia, two cities linked by the cult of Saint James the Greater's relics, are examined in this article. By drawing on primary and secondary sources, the study reconstructs the beginnings of a relationship that started in the XII century and has since influenced local identities, sacred architecture, and the European pilgrimage networks. Additionally, a series of interviews were conducted with key figures involved in the creation and promotion of initiatives aimed at strengthening the ties between the two cities. The article examines the significance of the 2017 twinning proposal as a modern attempt to revive this shared memory and emphasizes Pistoia's role in legitimizing it. Finally, it emphasizes the contribution of Italian scholarship to Jacobean studies and calls for renewed cultural and academic cooperation between the two cities.

Summary
As in the rest of Spain, on 5th October 1934, a revolutionary general strike was declared in Vigo, bringing the city to a standstill for several days. After it was crushed, a series of repressive measures were launched against the organized labor movement: the employers through dismissals; the Army through military proceedings and courts courts-martial; and the civil government by dismissing the municipal corporation… In the explanation of this process, a number of names and surnames will appear, both of military personnel and civil guards, as well of left-wing and right-wing activists. These names would continue to be present from 18th July 1936 onwards, some as perpetrators and others as victims, but they were people who didn´t appear overnight, because they had always been there.

Summary
In recent years we are approaching new realities and digital possibilities that can be explored from the fiel of humanities. In this context, this project is born based on the development of an application as a geoportal, which will try to solve the problem of bringing the importance of heritage to citizens in an enjoyable way. This new proposal offers the possibility of learning about heritage and contributing to its conservation in a collaborative way, without the need to go to different information portals. Memory, Heritage and Citizenship (MPC), converge in the App, helping to discover and rediscover feelings and/or memories for many forgotten. In this way, an approximation of the theoretical conceptualization is presented, along with a real application of it (Outes Municipality, A Coruña), converging in this way the field of humanities with technology in a common dialogue in favor of heritage. Let´s travel towards the future taking the present as our starting point, without forgetting the past and with technology as an ally.

Summary
This Final Master’s Thesis (TFM) focuses on the study of the individual KV8164, exhumed from the Kopparsvik cemetery (Gotland) and dated to the Viking Age (approximately 750-1050 AD). This individual is characterised by the presence of intentional dental modifications, similar to those documented in other Scandinavian contexts such as Birka. The main objective was to reconstruct his osteobiographical profile in order to understand the possible relationship between his bone alterations and dental modifications, applying a combined methodology of macroscopic analysis (to estimate sex, age, stature, pathologies and activity markers) and microscopic analysis (to examine the dental casts and post-depositional traces). This research was carried out within a public outreach framework, as the analysis took place during the temporary exhibition Unha vida viquinga at the Museum of the City of Culture in Santiago de Compostela, bringing the investigation closer to the general public. The results suggest that KV8164 was an adult male whose life involved intense physical activity, compatible with navigation, shipbuilding or servile labour. This activity was possibly related to the dental modifications as identity or guild markers, although a purely aesthetic function cannot be ruled out. Nevertheless, the main limitation lies in the study of a single individual, so future comparative research will be key to better understanding these practices.

Summary
This paper proposes a project to disseminate certain legends and mythical creatures from Galician popular imaginary through virtual reality, making it possible to interact with them. The purpose is to study the legends and creatures that are involved in them, reflecting on their meaning in the social context in which they germinated, and spread them in new formats adapted to the current state of society, considering the breakdown of their spontaneous transmission. In particular, legends about mouras, submerged cities, werewolves, trasnos and apparitions of souls (particularly, the compaña) are adressed. Through the use of new technologies, the project aims to create greater interest in citizens and encourage its preservation in the future, continuing as living heritage.

Summary
This proposal for revitalization of architectural heritage presents a series of circus performances on bridges declared as Assets of Cultural Interest and included in the heritage catalogues of the different municipalities that make up the Compostela region. Through the enhancement of the circus, a relationship is established between disused architecture, such as historic bridges, and performing arts without their own exhibition space, such as the circus. The work is divided into two parts; the first is a detailed study of each of the selected bridges through fieldwork, and a documentary and bibliographic review of them. This section also includes a historical circus review focused on the Galician context, through the analysis of documentary sources and testimonies that allow to understand the evolution and impact of this phenomenon in the region. The second part develops the practical proposal for heritage revitalization, based on the needs identified during the research. In this way, the work offers a comprehensive vision of the relationship between built heritage and performing arts, and proposes an intervention that seeks to revitalize these spaces and facilitate their integration into the cultural and social life of the community.

Summary
Between the 1880s and 1920s, the Bergantiños and Costa da Morte regions longed for a modern communication route that would connect them to the rest of the world and free them from their centuries-old isolation. This paper analyses the history of railway projects in that area between the 1880s and earlier, and 1913, from the A Coruña-Santiago line via Carballo to the strategic A Coruña-Carballo-Corcubión (known as the 'three Cs') and Santiago-Carballo railways. On the one hand, the various planned railway lines are analysed, both their legal formulation by the State, in the context of the secondary and strategic railway plans drawn up between 1888 and 1908, and their demand by local institutions (town councils, the Provincial Council, chambers of commerce, and the Royal Economic Society of Friends of the Country of Santiago de Compostela). The project presented by the Spanish Society of Secondary Railways (SEFS) is also examined in depth, relating it to the company's general operations throughout Spain, its objectives, and foreign investment in Spanish railways in general.

Summary
This work analyses the potential of the Montañas do Courel Geopark as a planning tool in a rural area and as a mechanism to promote endogenous development in the Quiroga region. The study delves into how the exceptional geological and landscape richness of this space can be leveraged to generate sustainable development rooted in the territory. To this end, it starts from the perception of high school students in Quiroga as the axis from which to structure possible future lines of action, considering the educational system and learning processes as the basis around which to build a society committed to heritage conservation. The methodology used includes the completion of a questionnaire and the analysis of quantitative and, especially, qualitative data to understand the perception of local high school students about the territory, their interest in the geographical vision, and their understanding of environmental concepts. The degree of development of the territorial identity of the inhabitants in relation to the Montañas do Courel is also evaluated. Among the most notable results, it stands out that the Montañas do Courel are perceived as a potential tourist destination due to their geological and landscape richness. The questionnaire conducted shows different perspectives on the landscape, evidencing the diversity of aesthetic and interest valuations. Furthermore, the research explores how the promotion of the Geopark can contribute not only to attracting visitors but also to strengthening the sense of belonging and the appreciation of natural and cultural heritage by the local population, which will result in the most appropriate conservation measure in this territory. In this way, the work highlights the need to balance economic and demographic development with environmental protection, proposing the Montañas do Courel Geopark as a key strategy to promote endogenous development that benefits the Quiroga region, taking advantage of its unique natural and cultural heritage in a sustainable way.

Summary
The analysis of the green infrastructure in Santiago de Compostela highlights the importance of the river network and riparian forests as key elements for the city. These multifunctional spaces provide cultural, hydrological regulation, and biodiversity conservation benefits. It is essential to establish protection and buffer zones to ensure proper management. The presence of exotic species, such as eucalyptus, poses a risk to biodiversity, despite being an economic resource. Native forests, like the Atlantic forest, must be promoted to mitigate climate change and conserve sustainable ecosystems. Access to green spaces is limited in densely populated urban areas, affected by the heat island effect. To improve this, interventions should be prioritized in areas with less access to green spaces

According to historiography, the Spanish Monarchy during the reign of Philip IV (1621-1665) pursued a confessional policy, which justified their bellicosity in the name of defending Catholicism. Nevertheless, religion was absent in the propaganda machine of the Hall of Kingdoms at the Palace of Buen Retiro. The aim of this Masters’ dissertation is to conduct an approach to the actions of Philip IV in matters of state from his relations with the United Provinces of the Netherlands, his main protestant enemy. Due to this being an approach, the sources used were printed and digitalized diplomatic documents and state papers. As a result, the supremacy of the conservation of his Monarchy over any religious matter by Philip IV is observed, thus seeming that he followed a “reason of state in consciousness”. The conclusions reached lead to the study of Philip IV’s political biography and the historiographical renovation of his, not just Foreign, Policy of his reign.

Summary
In the present work, the construction of Queen Mariana of Austria’s image in both textual and visual spheres will be analyzed through literary and iconographic sources. These sources are laudatory and propagandistic in nature, although, as will be briefly shown, there was also a satirical portrayal of the queen’s image aimed at delegitimizing her. Thus, this study will be structured into two main chapters that complement each other: the first provides context regarding the queen’s life and political trajectory, while the second analyzes the literary and iconographic construction of her image.

Summary
Following the Spanish Civil War, a dictatorship was established at the national level, which, after four decades in power, brought about a series of political, economic, and social changes whose imprint remains latent. The characteristic changes in the economy during the Franco regime favored the application of a specific industrial paternalism in many Spanish industries. This is the case of Ence and Tafisa in the city of Pontevedra. This paper analyzes how the industrialization of the province of Pontevedra occurred throughout the 20th century, taking into account the political developments that marked the path forward and saw the timber industry as a gold mine to support the economy during Franco's autarky. This is the starting point for these two companies, which used paternalistic policies to control their employees during the developmentalist phase of Franco's regime and which evolved during the Spanish Transition. The impact these measures had on the lives of workers and their families continues to this day and is the main focus of this paper.

Summary
This project aims to support a possible heritage digitalization of the Old City of A Coruña. In this sense, we seek to give value to the map as a key digital tool for the dissemination of heritage. We also seek to create a closer relationship with the citizen. To do this, a coherent urban story is created, this gives us the necessary information to carry out the hypothetical project. In addition, we make a critical analysis of the different digital resources that we have at our disposal and which ones are useful when creating our interactive map.

This work focuses on the study of a type of stone sarcophagus lid characteristic of the northwestern Iberian Peninsula, known as laudas de orantes y doble estola. This topic has sparked considerable debate in Galician archaeology from the late antique and early medieval periods. Our work aims to understand this type of material record within its archaeological context so as to offer new hypotheses about its chronology, its significance for Galician society, and within the funerary world of the 6th and 11th centuries.

Summary
After the Cortes of Cádiz, the budget for the musical chapel of the Santiago de Compostela’s cathedral was significantly reduced. Therefore, the salaries of its musicians decreased, forcing them to look for second employments outside the religious institution. This revision of the matter was made possible by research papers published regarding the topic, as well as news articles from the following decades. Our objective is to determine towards what events or spaces were these musicians being oriented, along with analysing the consequences of this situation after the Concordat of 1851. Being this period somewhat of a transition, it can be stablished that these ministers must have dealt with an itinerant location, juggling festivities, the Music Band, and the Theatre, among others. This behaviour would cause trouble with the Church, further deteriorating their precarity. Even so, these professionals would not resign from their posts at the cathedral. This constitutes a synthesis of previous studies, such as those published by Pilar Alén or María García Caballero, delving deeper into the thesis that Carlos Villanueva introduces in “De la iglesia al salón: una crónica desde el concordato al motu proprio en Galicia (1851-1903)”.

Summary
The granite industry in Porriño began its journey at the beginning of the 20th century. Since the 1970s and 1980s, it experienced strong expansion, bringing with it economic prosperity and the creation of numerous jobs. However, the terrible environmental working conditions caused a high number of people poisoned by the silica that was suspended in the air; as a result, hundreds of people affected by the industry began to suffer from silicosis. From this work we seek to demonstrate the relationship between economic expansion and the erosion of workers' health. To alleviate the situation of this very harmful context, the action of doctors and health institutions was necessary, which uncovered the cases and demonstrated that the environmental levels were far from being adequate. Furthermore, worker mobilization was essential to achieve an improvement in their conditions and also decent compensation. The contextualization of this work is established within the framework of the Great Acceleration and the Wasteocene. Through interviews and various documents, we seek to reach the level of awareness and responsibility that each actor had within the process.

This work treats about the phenomenom of the Nova Canción Latinoamericana (NCL) as a cultural movement and a culturak expression that emerged during a period of global cultural effervescence in the 1960s. It aims to explore how the historical, political, economic and social processes that took place within the cntext of the Latin American Cold War affected the cultural sphere, specifically, music. The NCL was strongly shaped by global structural changes, the development of the New Left and the impact of the Cuban Revolution, wich served as a catalyst for the hopes of Latin American peoples and oppressed social classes in their struggle against U.S. imperialism. This ideological framework influenced the musical production of the NCL, which treat to revalues local culture, taking inspiration from the traditional and folk music of different regions. This study focuses on the cases of Cuba, Chile, Uruguay, and Nicaragua as regional variants of a continental phenomenon. Musical, poetic, and aesthetic characteristics will also be analyzed collectively, along with the themes of the lyrics, which commonly address social commitment, identity, and revolutionary struggle across Latin American territories. These messages were intended to be conveyed to the people through oral mechanisms and mass media, recognizing the song’s potential to resonate with the public. The musicians sought to connect with one another through meeting spaces and musical collaborations, shaping the NCL as a deeply political and collective artistic phenomenon, one that articulated a voice and a message of resistance and struggle through music

Summary
Based on the exploratory research collected in my TFG in Political Science and Administration “Genesis and evolution of the Galician Socialist Party (PSG) (1963-1982)” presented at the USC (2012), I try to delve deeper into the task of investigating Galician democratic socialist nationalism from a historiographic and transdisciplinary perspective that expands, enriches and complements previous knowledge about its historical path within the Political History of Galicia, specifically during the Franco regime and the democratic Transition. With a somewhat more ambitious vocation, where a more extensive repertoire of primary (oral, documentary) and secondary sources is dealt with, opening the panorama beyond the Galician Socialist Party (PSG) to observe those party formulations in the field of socialist nationalism in relation to the emergence of successive Political Opportunity Structures that have been shaping tactical and strategic reactions and changes in the whole of organized Galician nationalism. The PSG and related political organizations such as the Galician Workers' Party (POG), Galician Left (EG) or Galician Unity (UG) were companions or continuators of the same soul of nationalism that built bridges between the historical pre-war Galicianism with the new radical Marxist nationalism that emerged in the 1960s, functioning in practice also as a laboratory of ideas and organizational tools with a particular vision and evolution in a turbulent and convulsive historical time that marked its political development, bequeathing its own way of understanding the very lively contemporary Galician nationalism (social and institutional). I approach its raison d'être not only as a party or succession of parties, but also as a political-cultural phenomenon inserted in a broader counter-hegemonic popular movement.

Summary
In the last decades, cultural astronomy has grown in popularity and scope, which has determined that it is now an established discipline among the other archaeological specialities. In this respect, this project tries to elucidate whether there is any relation between the astronomical world and Roman religion, more specifically by studying the materiality of its temples and sanctuaries. To carry out this task, the orientations of 25 temples were analysed, both from the city of Rome and from different parts of the Latium region, built between the monarchic and republican periods. After the analysis of these data, we have determined that 68% of the buildings analysed have a clear eastward orientation, with significant concentrations at the points corresponding to sunrise at the equinox and the Winter Solstice. These figures show, firstly, that there was a relation between astronomical phenomena and Roman religious architecture. Secondly, they make us question whether the sanctuaries that deviate from this pattern respond to orientation dynamics related to local cults or whether there are other explanations for these anomalies.

Summary
This paper aims to explore the development of Franco’s social policy for sea workers through the fishermen associations called Cofradías de Pescadores, focusing on the case of the Cofradía de Pescadores 'Santa Tecla' of A Guarda, with the goal of drawing initial conclusions that will contribute to a broader analysis of the phenomenon. We will also seek to understand how the institution carried out its functions in the context of the town’s fishermen’s quarter, known as A Marina. We will thus delve into the living and working conditions in the neighbourhood during the period under review, as well as the political and institutional context that led to the creation of the Cofradía. Thus, the central element of the research will consist of a comprehensive analysis of all areas of daily life affected by the fishermen association’s actions during the dictatorship, with the aim of delving deeper into the degree of real influence it had on the lives of the sailors. Finally, we will seek to understand how the fishing district’s economic growth, within the context of the overall economic growth of the Spanish state and its fishing fleet, affected daily life and the main functions performed by the Cofradía. For the preparation of this work, in addition to general and specific bibliography, primary archival sources were used, specifically the Arquivo municipal da Guarda and the Arquivo da Confraría de Pescadores 'Santa Tecla', as well as a corpus of oral interviews conducted with neighbourhood residents born in the 1930s and 1940s.
Summary
This paper addresses the question of the cultural phenomenon that developed in the 1980s in the city of Vigo, known as a Movida. The study adopts a wide perspective, linking it to the sociopolitical context of the city, which we understand to be defining and essential to its maintenance and popularity. Thus, through the consultation of specializad bibliography and the examination of various sources, we attempt to understand the specific features of a Movida viguesa that enabled its development and consolidation, going beyond the year traditionally regarded as its point of origin. Commonly accepted characteristics are also reconsidered, exploring its political connections, its disconnection from reality, or its definition as intrinsically urban. Finally, its relationship with institutions and its dissemination through both official and unofficial media will also be addressed.

Summary
The study of prehistoric metallurgy in Almería has been a long-standing subject, from the Siret collection in 1890 to the revision of the Siret collection by Murillo Barroso et al. (2024). A series of debates have developed regarding the use and importance of metallurgy and metals, their operational chain, their role in the process of social hierarchy, and the implications of each functional group of objects according to their treatment and composition. Therefore, the study of this collection has helped to expand these debates that remain to be clarified and to fill the documentary gap for some of the river basins. The objectives that motivated this study are to carry out an analysis and categorization of the objects through visual, comparative, and contextual examinations and to reconstruct part of their operational chain. Thus, 11 metal samples from 8 objects (2 Chalcolithic and 6 Bronze Age) were studied using elemental, metallographic, and visual analyses, and two Argaric ceramics were analyzed macroscopically. Almost none of the samples presented elemental or metallographic anomalies, although in general, the arsenic levels were below the usual average, especially the bracelet, and one of the halberd rivets, which is strangely rich in Pb. In the case of the materials found in tombs, we have confirmed the repetition of burial patterns. We have also compared the 70 metallographies performed to date in search of patterns in the operational chain… These data have allowed us to conclude that our collection is consistent with the rest of the pieces studied in the other Almería watersheds and that the anomalies are due to the mineralization and the fire that the pieces suffered. In the case of the bracelet, its low As content suggests an exogenous origin. The burial patterns have helped us better understand the relationships between nearby settlements such as Hoya de la Matanza, and the comparison with metallographs has provided us with an overview of the types of final treatments given to the pieces. The latter will help us begin to delve deeper into the treatments and types of pieces to clarify their specific functions. Ultimately, the collection has allowed us to gain a better understanding of prehistoric metallurgy in these areas.

Summary
In recent decades, political systems across much of the Western world have witnessed the emergence of a seemingly novel phenomenon. This involves the rise of far-right political forces that differ substantially from traditional right-wing movements which were hegemonic until the late twentieth century. Aiming to advance a struggle over meanings and interpretations in the cultural sphere, they have embarked on a quest into the dawn of history, seeking to reinterpret milestones, figures, and deeds to make them functional to their ideological tenets. Thus, many of their political premises and proposals are not new; rather, they have borrowed them from past political experiences and theoretical frameworks, adapting them to their own contexts of action. In this regard, the process of colonization in the Americas has not been immune to political appropriation by these actors. It follows that formulations surrounding the concept of Hispanidad, its theoretical developments and implications, are recurrent elements in these parties' rhetoric, both in Latin America and Spain. Accordingly, this paper conducts an in-depth study of Vox, a manifestation of the Spanish far right, and Cabildo Abierto, its Uruguayan counterpart, to analyze whether their interpretations of Hispanidad's genealogy, origins, and political uses vary according to their respective contexts of emergence and development, and in what forms these appear in their discourses.

Summary
This essay aims to analyze, from a gender perspective, the extent to which the housing policies of Francoism could influence the shaping of female identities of the women beneficiaries of these dwellings and their attitudes regarding the regime. We also investigate the possible existence of sorority networks in the new context of neighbourhood and their impact on the improvement of the living conditions of women. Lastly, we try to identify female participation in the birth of the associative movement of the neighbourhoods. In order to verify these hypotheses, we conduct a survey about two groups of social housing in the neighbourhood of Pontepedriña, in Santiago de Compostela: The grupo Compostela, from the 50s, and the grupo Cardenal Quiroga, from the 70s. We conclude that women show no gratitude towards the regime and that the sorority networks that could have been the seed of a vindicatory associative movement never came to be. This will happen later, during democracy.

Summary
This paper aims to address the Orphic gold tablets from a multidisciplinary perspective, given their dual nature. On the one hand, it seeks to understand the material reality behind their production and use; on the other, it analyzes the original texts inscribed on them. The goal is not to limit the study of the tablets to a single aspect, but rather to approach them by considering the information provided by their multiple dimensions as a whole. The objective of this study is to gain a deeper understanding of Orphic thought through the tablets, considering both their material reality and the symbolic significance involved in their production, use, and textual content.

Summary
In the 17th century, Europeans referred to Taiwan as Isla Hermosa or Ilha Formosa. In 1626, with the aim of developing trade and spreading the Catholic faith, the Spanish occupied the northern part of the island and established bases in Keilang (present-day Heping Island) and Tanchuy (present-day Tamsui). Although the Spanish rule lasted only sixteen years, its legacy cannot be ignored. One of the most important material testimonies is the Church of Todos los Santos, the only Spanish architectural structure excavated to date. This study, based on preserved documentary sources and the works of other researchers, both Spanish and Taiwanese, seeks to comprehensively reconstruct Spanish activities in Taiwan. The purpose of this work is to contribute to the understanding of this little-known period of colonial history in East Asia and of the material and cultural heritage that remains from this presence, with particular attention given to historical cartography, as well as to encourage greater interest in this chapter of the Spanish Monarchy’s presence in the Far East.

Summary
The process of integrating new twcnologies into traditionally established fields is one of the defining characteristics of the historical and social context of recent years. For this reason, a new proposal is introduced that incorporates artificial intelligence as a tool for disseminating documentary heritage. The Liber Sancti IAcobi project emerged as a demonstration chatbot or conversational assistant, utilizing generative artificial intelligence to share the content of the manuscript. The central element chosen for this proposal is the Calixtine Codex, a key medieval work for understanding both medieval and contemporary Compostela, containing valuable content that is reflected in current practices. The distinguishing novelty of this proposal is that the chatbot model draws from carefully selected documentary and bibliographic sources, ensuring rigor in its results and transmission. The ultimate goal is to create a tool that users can utilize to resolve questions regarding the origin, evolution, and transformation of the Santiago de Compostela volume, with applications in research, outreach, and even tourism. This will allow users to explore the historical and artistic evolution, as well as learn about figures such as Queen Lupa, the Apostle James, Charlemagne´s relationship with Compostela, the miracles performad by the Apostle, or even the significance of the “traslatio,” among many other unique aspects.

Summary
Owing to new technologies, digital preservation of heritage makes it possible to recover lost or severely deteriorated architectural structures, provided that adequate historical sources are available. Through 3D modeling, this project aims to bring back to life one of the many constructions that once shaped the urban landscape of Santiago de Compostela. Beyond its historical and cultural value, this initiative offers an alternative strategy for decentralizing tourism, reducing pressure on overvisited areas and preventing their accelerated deterioration. In this way, digital heritage preservation not only facilitates conservation and dissemination but also sparks a debate on the protection of popular heritage. Beyond major monuments, it is essential to safeguard the structures that have shaped the city’s identity, contributing to a more sustainable urban environment and a more balanced tourism experience.

Summary
Renewable energies, especially wind power, are often developed in rural areas --regions that frequently face demographic and economic decline. In this context, wind energy development represents an opportunity to revitalize these communities. This study aims to explore how wind energy can drive rural development. It examines the main economic flows that local communities receive from the installation of wind farms and includes a case study of the CMVMC of Baroña, a successful example of how wind energy revenues can support multifunctional land management. Through this approach, the community has generated economic activity and employment in Baroña, while also promoting various socio-cultural initiatives and providing multiple benefits to its members. The findings reveal that the Galician model has largely excluded local communities from wind energy development, granting significant advantages to wind farm developers. This has limited the potential for fostering rural growth. However, the installation of many wind farms on community-owned land (under the framework of MVMC) helps to offset some of these shortcomings. Shared land ownership allows for a fairer distribution of benefits, while local residency requirements ensure that these benefits remain within the community itself.

Summary
This study focuses on the period of China's socio-economic transformation from 1990 to 2010, a critical phase that marked the country's transition from a planned economy to a socialist market economy system, characterized by significant institutional reforms and socio-economic transformations that fundamentally reshaped household consumption patterns and women's roles in both economic and domestic spheres, employing a combination of quantitative and qualitative methods to conduct an in-depth analysis of urban household consumption patterns and women's labor participation. The study pays particular attention to details of household consumption in areas such as food and healthcare, examining changes in women's roles in both the workplace and the home. The findings reveal that during this period, household consumption patterns shifted from a material-oriented structure to a development-oriented one. Increased female labor force participation drove household consumption upgrades but also posed challenges in balancing work and family roles.

The findings reveal that during this period, household consumption patterns shifted from a material-oriented structure to a development-oriented one. Increased female labor force participation drove household consumption upgrades but also posed challenges in balancing work and family roles.

Summary
This work analyzes the relationship between women and political power in Rome from the time of the Monarchy to the end of the Republic, focusing on the main female figures represented in classical sources. It examines the limitations Roman women faced and the specific ways in which they exercised political influence. In addition, it compares Roman figures with powerful women from other cultures, highlighting the culturally imposed gender roles in Rome. It is worth noting that ancient sources display an androcentric and moralizing bias in the construction of female stereotypes and the traditional role of women in relation to power. Roman sources constructed female archetypes to reinforce the patriarchal tradition; unlike in other cultures, female power in Rome was mainly indirect and symbolic, based on rigid gender roles.

Summary
This study focuses on the life and work of Enrique Mayer de Castro (1861- 1931), who was an engraver, jet worker, goldsmith, draughtsman and heraldist. He was chosen as the subject of this study because of his significant contributions to the art of Santiago de Compostela, including: being the person who revived the legendary jet tradition in Compostela; the person who discovered that the technique of boxwood foot had been used in Santiago long before it was used in England; and the artist who illustrated the books of the historian Antonio López Ferreiro with his engravings, which were of great importance for Galician history. The study will analyze the figure of Mayer de Castro from three different perspectives, as well as providing a catalogue of his work.

Summary
In this work, we will explore the reality of women in rural Galicia through the photography of Ruth Matilda Anderson. We will analyze the factors that led to the creation of the Hispanic Society of America and Ruth’s work in Galicia. We will use three specific photographs as sources of information about women's labor that is not documented in other primary sources. The images will serve as a guiding thread to bring us closer to the social and working reality of women in rural Galicia during the 1920s. The aim of this research is to approach the past in a more accurate way, seeking to shed light on an important segment of the rural women and to help break the silence that has excluded them from History.

The Divine Comedy (1306-1320) by Dante Alighieri constitutes a universal milestone among the masterpieces of Italian literature, being a constant source of inspiration for leading artists such as Botticelli, Blake, Doré, Dalí, etc. The aim of this Master’s Thesis is to propose a virtual exhibition through the various artistic representations of the sins, circles and characters of dantesque Hell. To do so, and after an exhaustive search for images, a discourse and a journey through the History of Art from the Medieval to the Contemporary Era has been elaborated, covering different disciplines, supports and techniques to try to give a didactic, concise and clarifying vision that allows the spectators to approach the allegorical poetry.

Summary
Maritime heritage constitutes a fundamental element for understanding the development and identity of coastal communities. The town of Bueu, located in the Morrazo region in Pontevedra, emerges as an ideal setting to analyze, study, and catalog its maritime heritage, as well as to explore strategies for its sustainable management. This study examines potential heritage assets and their current state. It considers those that have disappeared, those that have undergone transformations, those that are still preserved, and those at risk of disappearing. It explores aspects such as the preservation, conservation, and management of tangible assets, such as architectural constructions, boats, fishing gear, etc., and intangible assets, such as trades, markings, or place names, among others. To provide practical relevance, the study seeks to integrate these assets into tourism, educational, and economic dynamics. The purpose of this study is not only to document and evaluate Bueu’s maritime heritage but also to highlight its value as a strategic resource in shaping a local identity. It is important to understand how local communities perceive and participate in the conservation of their heritage, and how this can serve as a driving force for social cohesion and cultural revitalization.

The present proposal pretends to realize the current condition of conservation, as well as aproach Patrimonial Valuation proposals, starting from three archaeological sites of recent Prehistory, localised in the city of Santiago. From the chronological view it encompass from Neolithic era to Iron Age starting from the study of Mámoa 1 de Sabugueira, the Castriño do Conxo’s Petroglyph and the Saint Eulalia of Bando’s Castro. This study will start from the conservation analysis of these archaeological sites, to develop a series of proposals for their conservation, upkeep and divulgation, for their preservation and Patrimonial Valuation. The information that this document will aport pretends to emphasise the importance of the Compostelan archaeological heritage, placed in the two of the historic pilgrimage roads such as Camiño Francés and Camiño Portugués and the short distance of the city, forgotten in the social memoria, a fact that causes its current state of abandonment and degradation.

Summary
This paper studies the seaside resort-oriented urban development that took place on the coast between Carril and Vilagarcía from 1873 to 1913. Starting from both urban centers, already consolidated in the modern era, we will analyze how the economic and industrial development of their ports, as well as the railway connection with Santiago de Compostela, links with the new cultural uses of the shore (oriented toward health and leisure) promoted by the 19th-century bourgeoisie. This study places us in front of the first attempts at tourism promotion on the Arousa coast. To this end, we will conduct a bibliographic review and a study of historical sources (documentation, plans, drawings, photographs, press, etc.) that will also allow us to analyze specific urban or architectural projects, especially those that can be directly related to summer vacations and new forms of leisure.

Summary
This work aims to contextualise and explain the origin of Banda Deseñada Galega (BDG), diving into its reivindicative character and its heritage importance as a new channel for artistic creation and expression, paying special attention to the impact that Galician art and culture of the 20th century have on its gestation, as well as the role played by underground culture and international countercultural movements in this process. With this in mind, we will begin by describing the antecedents of comics that we find in our territory since the 19th century, as well as the social and cultural changes that shaped Galicia in the last moments of the Franco´s dictatorship, in order to adequately define a context that helps us understand the references and circumstances on which our comics were born. Later on, we will present those authors who promoted the birth of the BDG in the 1970s, explaining how they came into contact with the medium and the vision they had of it, analysing how this materialises in the various comics they produce. To this end, an analytical reading of several selected works will be carried out, paying special attention to those thematic and stylistic features that will allow us to define the unique and identifying aspects of the BDG.

Summary
The present work is based on a previous experience. This dealt with collaborative artistic practices in the contemporary world and the study of three collectives, analysing issues such as the fact that these artistic practices respond to a current conception, but also taking into account the political nature of their discourses. Therefore, based on this analysis, a study was carried out on the presence of collective artistic practices in the collections of the main contemporary Spanish museums, considering, among other factors, whether these museums have echoed these practices and their representation in them. The starting point is a subject that has not been examined in depth at the national level. In this way, and by drawing up an artistic breakdown of collectives in the selected museums (and presenting the dichotomy with the so-called ''couples'' or ''duos'') the aim is to show the museum representation of these groups in Spain.

Summary
The present dissertation covers the research and analysis of Francoist dictatorship’s social control over leisure and ludic atmosphere in Ourense’s province, framed within informal sociability’s scope. An approach to the “day-to-day” of these populations and to the frames and regulations that moulded them which, directly or indirectly transmit information concerning their communities, the role they assumed within them, and the relations and strategies that arose from the dynamics with the Nuevo Estado. The Francoist regime conceived a complex legislative apparatus, which would be based largely on former codes and regulations. A wide range of regulations and proscriptions, with an aim of control of the wide totality of the population, that will lay out the objectives of surveillance of the dictatorship, allowing us to identify the ways and mechanisms of power used on everyday life, as well as in the manners in which they are exercised, they viability, and the possible dissidences. Ultimately, we seek to understand the reality of daily sociability in Ourense’s province during the Francoist dictatorship, drawn through the adaptation formulas of the population in their encounter with the governmental mechanisms of social regulation.

Summary
Primo de Rivera´s dictatorship was a big change in all the national territory, because it was the first experience of an authoritarian system in Spain. Spanish Army had already played a significant role in 19th-century politics, this was a different form of intervention, moving from the old-fashioned pronunciamientos to a coup d'état, which took place on September 13th, 1923. This military coup d'état established a military dictatorship that brought with it massive interventionism in economic, labour, and social matters. It abandoned the liberal conception of the state based on minimal intervention, and Primo de Rivera's regime opted for a third way with many similarities to other European totalitarian projects, particularly the fascist movements of interwar Europe. This master’s thesis seeks to examine how the Primo de Rivera dictatorship and its institutions and projects were introduced into Galicia. This will allow us to analyse its degree of penetration and the changes it brought about in various areas of the economy and society. In this way, we will be able to identify the continuities, failures, and successes of the dictatorship in carrying out its project of nationalization, integration, control, and pacification of the masses. We will also highlight the creation of corporatist structures to control the economy and society, all based on the pursuit of a strongly nationalist and autarkic program

Summary
This study proposes a review of the state of art in carpological research to interpret the beginnings of the Neolithic process in the Iberian Peninsula. This analysis is based on the creation of a database containing dated plant macroremains. These data have been used to create a model of geographical dispersion, which provides new perspectives on the spatial aspects of the Neolithic process in the Iberian Peninsula from an archaeobotanical point of view. The model is presented alongside other existing ones to provide an overview of previous research.

Summary
The Panificadora de Vigo is one of the most unique buildings in Vigo and one of the best examples of industrial heritage and the use of reinforced concrete, but its importance did not prevent it from total abandonment. Throughout this work a small contribution to the situation of industrial heritage in the Galician legislation and in the city of Vigo will be made. Once the context is known, the history and evolution of the complex will be analyzed, including its protection within the PXOM of Vigo and different attempts of restoration and other recovered industrial spaces. Finally, a museum-conversion proposal aimed at the first and second floor of the north end of the main building and the silos (a bread interpretation room, an art market and a viewpoint) will be provided.

Summary
Galicia experienced two constituent processes to achieve political autonomy: the Republican Statute of 1936 and the current one from 1981. These opportunities leaded to a necessary clarification that was not as easily deduced as in other territories: the designation of the capital. This study aims to address how this issue was handled: from the political agents responsible for drafting the projects, the debates and discussions held in official representative institutions, to the municipal, media, and popular reactions of the two cities vying for the title: A Coruña and Santiago de Compostela. Emphasis will be placed on the discourses and arguments to determine what has persisted over time and what has not; which profiles used them and with what interests; and what differences and similarities can be identified between locations and chronologies. Ultimately, the goal is to understand how an apparently minor issue became the most controversial and critical point of both texts, even threatening their very realization; a dispute that was officially resolved with the Seat of Government Law of 1982.

Summary
The study of Roman mosaics in Hispania has suffered from uneven research interest. In this regard, the geographical area known as the Asturian convent has not been the subject of a synthesis to date. Addressing this shortcoming, the main objective of this master's thesis is to provide a summary of the mosaics found in this area. To this end, first, a review of previous work conducted at both the national and local levels was conducted. Second, the limitations and problems posed by the study of this type of element were analyzed. Third, after creating a database containing the mosaic corpus, an analysis was conducted, addressing both technical and formal issues. Fourth, the results were compared with other results from the Iberian Peninsula, both within and outside the Roman province. To conclude the work, the most comprehensive photographic appendix possible was created to visually accompany the mosaics cited, as well as a table of their inventory.

In this work we ought to analize early medieval archaeological record in Galicia, as well as it´s research evolution till present day. We will not only study the data we have, but also pay special attention to absences, for wich we will compare the archaeological record to other region´s in search for apparently notable differences. In regards to the information we do have, we will analize the characteristics of each type of archaeological site from Late Antiquity and Early Middle Ages as well as it´s evolution between the 4th and 10th centuries. That way, we will share the current state of galician early medieval archaeology.

Summary
During the final century of the Roman Republic, the political system experienced significant turmoil, which was expressed and elaborated through metaphorical language. The image of the political body assumed a central role as a rhetorical device to represent both division and the ideal unity of the republican community. This paper analyzes how such a metaphor was employed to conceptualize institutional crisis and to justify opposing political positions. By examining the internal division of the system and the discourse of authors identified as optimates and populares, we explore how the metaphor becomes a key tool for understanding the decline of the Republic

Summary
The study of underwater cultural heritage presents to specific peculiarities, as it involves the research of assets whose main feature is having been found beneath various types of water bodies. A particularly illustrative example is the case of Fragata de las Mercedes, since, in addition to being a shipwreck, it was also the object of plundering, which resulted in a complex legal issue. This frigate sank in 1804 off the coast of the Algarve in Portugal, and it was not until more than two hundred years later, in 2007, that the American company Odyssey Marine Exploration carried out, unofficially, the extraction of a large portion of the shipwreck’s contents. The goal of this Master´s Thesis is analyzing the plundering of La Fragata de Las Mercedes, and the sentence which returned the objects back to Spain as an example of the legal framework which regulates the research and conservation of underwater heritage.

Summary
Hand stencils and archaeological footprints constitute a unique source of evidence for understanding human anatomy, otherwise inaccessible through other means in prehistoric contexts. Traditionally, research on hand and foot impressions has focused on identity-related aspects such as age, sex, species, or locomotion, as well as symbolic and artistic dimensions. However, these two types of evidence have not been jointly considered as potential reflections or indicators of paleopathologies in the past. This study is conceived as a preliminary attempt to develop a methodology aimed at the identification and retrospective diagnosis of pathological conditions through archaeological trace evidence. To this end, the research draws on the experimental recording of modern hand and foot impressions, alongside the application of innovative analytical tools such as angular measurements, geometric morphometrics, and Digital Elevation Models (DEM). The objective is to establish a methodological proposal grounded in actualistic references, allowing for the identification of variability in the analysed traces and enhancing diagnostic capabilities based on this type of evidence.

Summary
This Master’s Thesis analyzes the phenomenon of neorural cinema in Spain, focusing on the case studies of Alcarràs (Carla Simón, 2022) and El Agua (Elena López Riera, 2022). To this end, a historical and social context of the neorural phenomenon is provided, understood as the migration from cities to rural areas, along with an overview of the evolution of Spanish rural cinema from its origins to the present day. Through a qualitative approach, the aesthetic, narrative, and thematic elements that connect and distinguish both productions are examined, situating them within the cultural debate surrounding the concept “España vacía (da)”. Thus, the study explores the role of cinema as a contemporary artistic tool to reflect on the social and territorial transformations of recent decades.

This Master's dissertation aims to review heritage elements which are popular and socially appreciated in everyday life, yet not legitimized or protected by the heritage industry. Through images, places, and non-places, this work will comprise an exemplification of case studies and a reflection on how it is decided what heritage is and what is not. Traversing the contemporary digital paradigm, this dissertation also intends to analyse the pitfalls of Artificial Intelligence, the hyperconnected and hyper-fatigued world, the generation of future digitally born heritage elements, and the construction of a brand new contemporary sensibility through devices that will alter (or has altered) our creative process.

Summary
This study examines the central role of proletarian internationalism in the Partido Obrero de Unificación Marxista (POUM) during the Spanish Civil War (1936-1939). The paper considers how the defence of internationalism was fundamental in the dispute over the narrative within the Republican side, in the ideological cohesion of the party's militancy and in the war mobilisation carried out by the POUM. From a cultural approach, we will study the relationship between the debates on the national question, the organisation of the militias during the civil war and the quest to lead the republican war effort towards the triumph of the socialist revolution. Based on the hypothesis of the existence of a revolutionary war culture forged throughout the conflict, it will also seek to show the ideological circulation of internationalism ‘from below’, focusing especially on the discourse and use of language of the POUM militiamen.

Summary
This study explores the close interrelationship between religion, athletic competition, and prophecy in Ancient Greece, focusing on the Panhellenic Games, Olympic, Pythian, Isthmian, and Nemean, and their connection to oracles, especially the Oracle of Apollo at Delphi. Far from being mere sporting events, these contests were genuine religious rituals, imbued with symbolism and consecrated to the major deities of the Greek pantheon. Through an interdisciplinary methodology combining the history of religions, archaeology, classical philology, and the anthropology of sport, this research analyzes how athletic practice functioned as a form of ritual devotion, reinforcing social order, civic identity, and cosmic harmony. Special attention is paid to practices such as ekecheiria (sacred truce), sacrifices, offerings, and oracular consultations, highlighting their symbolic and political significance. Athletes were regarded as sacred offerers, and their victories interpreted as signs of divine favor. Within this framework, the sanctuary of Delphi is presented as a paradigm of the integration between agon and prophecy, solidifying its role as a religious, diplomatic, and legitimizing center of the Greek world. The study also addresses the historical evolution of these festivals, from their aristocratic origins to their institutionalization during the Hellenistic and Roman periods, emphasizing how sanctuaries served as mediating spaces between poleis and as settings for the construction of a shared Panhellenic identity. Ultimately, the Panhellenic Games are interpreted through their religious and prophetic dimensions: competition was not merely a display of physical prowess, but a form of worship, where the athlete’s body became a vehicle of communication with the divine.

Summary
Since the 1970s, a growing number of women (as art historians, theorists and artists) have promoted a sustained critique of structural gender discrimination in the artistic sphere. This struggle, still ongoing in the 21st century, has permeated various spheres, such as art history, the art market and, most notably, the museum space, which is the focus of our research. Despite certain advances since the new millennium, reflected in greater visibility for women artists and recognition of their production, there is still resistance to effectively incorporating a gender perspective and parity policies in the institutional functioning of museums. Consequently, the main objectives of this research are, on the one hand, to offer a theoretical-methodological framework based on feminist art criticism and, on the other, to analyse the presence of women artists in the museum system, focusing on their representation in collections and exhibition programmes. To do so, we will present the historiographical and museological context in which these claims are inscribed, both internationally and in Spain, with emphasis on the Galician peripheral context. As a practical example, we will approach the CGAC (Centro Galego de Arte Contemporánea), a key institution in the Galician art scene, the study of which allows us to evaluate its trajectory and institutional commitment to gender equality.

Summary
This final Master's project aims to explore the various applications of transmedia storytelling within the museum context. When referring to transmedia storytelling, we are addressing a communicative format that disseminates narratives across multiple media platforms, primarily digital, while simultaneously generating a stimulus-response dynamic in the audience. These emerging formats open up innovative avenues for the digital transmission of cultural heritage, actively involving the audience. Museums, in this sense, are called to adopt new strategies for digital communication, thus offering a renewed dimension to these traditionally static institutions through the opportunities enabled by transmedia storytelling.

Summary
This research explores the Metropolitan Area of Vigo, focusing on process, legitimation and prospective. The main objective is the validation, or not, of the research hypothesis, which is the following: the different agents make a general statement that the materialization of the Metropolitan Area of Vigo would improve the quality of life, in terms of supply of public services and their efficiency, of the inhabitants of the 14 municipalities included in it, but the partisan disagreements based on the divergent agendas and political orientations of the different parties, at the different territorial levels, make its implementation impossible. To achieve this objective, a bibliographical analysis is carried out, with special attention to the conceptualization of the term “metropolitan area” and the existing antecedents of this supra-municipal entity, both at international level and in the Spanish case. Methodologically, interviews are carried out with the main actors of the municipalities involved in the Metropolitan Area of Vigo, in order to carry out a discursive analysis. The results obtained show how political conflict is the main reason for the paralysis of this metropolitan entity.

Summary
The aim of this study is to analyze fire dynamics during the recent Prehistory at O Xistral Range. Through the study of microcharcoal particles present in palynological preparations obtained from an 8,000-year-old peat record, the analysis of the spatial patterns of cultural heritage sites, and the review of specialized literature, this work seeks to understand the relationship between past fire regimes and settlement patterns in the area. The counting of microcharcoal particles from a total of 23 samples, covering a chronological framework from ca. 4000 BP to ca. 1050 BP, allowed us to link fire events in the O Xistral Range to the archaeological sites in the area using geographic information systems (GIS). Similarly, the comparison with geochemical data from the same record enabled us to distinguish between fire events at local and regional scales. The impact of fire drastically transformed the landscape from the Late Iron Age and during the Roman period; however, the presence of earlier burning events highlights the importance of its use as early as the Early Bronze Age. Additionally, comparisons with other areas in the northwest of the Iberian Peninsula revealed that the landscape transformations resulting from human activity were not uniform across the region, with varying rhythms between the studied areas. It was also observed that certain factors, such as the location of the records, can influence the detection of fire signals, leading to significant differences even between nearby peatlands. Furthermore, the lack of bibliographical references on the archaeological record of O Xistral related to recent Prehistory makes it difficult to connect the sites identified with GIS to fire signals, as the occupation phases remain unknown.

Summary
Engraved megalithic art forms an important framework of expression throughout the Iberian Peninsula, being one of the main, and most unique, manifestations of prehistoric art. This type of representation, found in the orthostats of dolmens and mausoleums, is of relative importance in the northwest of the peninsula. This work will focus on the analysis of four monuments in the province of Pontevedra with evidence of motifs of all types, from serpentine and zigzag to anthropomorphic representations. To improve the study, recording and interpretation of these manifestations, digital techniques such as photogrammetry will be used, using the Structure from Motion (SfM) technology, which allows the creation of detailed three-dimensional models that do not affect the engraved stone. These 3D models will be processed in free software such as Meshlab and XShade, which allows the grooves of the engravings that were previously imperceptible to the naked eye to be highlighted. This improves the field of research into megalithic art, providing possible unpublished features of the different orthostats, completing and complementing the tracings made in previous studies of the same sites. These updates of the engravings using 3D technology allow us to reinforce the idea of an iconographic system planned by Neolithic societies, linked to memory, ancestors and a possible territorial identity. Furthermore, it shows the wide range of work to be carried out in this field, highlighting the need to revisit the set of megaliths that have engraved art in the northwest of the peninsula using these digital technologies.

Summary
Mesopotamia is known as the cradle of civilization. It was there that some of the world's first cities emerged, which developed between the Tigris and Euphrates rivers more than five thousand years ago. Urbanism was born in Mesopotamia as a result of multiple technical, commercial and economic factors, but also geographical and cultural, which led to the birth of new settlement configurations, completely different from previous rural settlements. They came to coexist and participate together in one of the greatest changes that humanity has known, and which must be described as the urban revolution, being at the height of another subsequent revolution that marked society, the industrial one. Archaeology has made it possible to identify those characteristics that allow a settlement to be identified as a city, through different interventions, in multiple archaeological sites. Although there is still little and partial knowledge of it, it can be stated without fear of being wrong that urban planning in Mesopotamia was marked by careful planning, monumental construction and cultural and commercial development, playing a vital role in the history of human civilization. Thus, archaeologically revealing issues such as the impressive engineering works implicit in the planning of cities, their shapes, their defense systems and dimensions or their foundational mechanisms, as well as the role played by their rulers in this revolution, have been evidenced. Therefore, the existence of complex urban planning in settlements of up to 400 hectares, with a clear well-defined morphology, will be evidenced. The existence of a diversity of architectural, organized and hierarchical formulas that structure the internal space of the city itself, according to the different activities and functions, whether religious, economic or political, can be appreciated. The defensive context and its elements are analyzed, defining the city and configuring, not only the limits of the city, but also the civilized character of its inhabitants, a manifestation of the power of the guardian god of the city and by extension of its king. This shows the relevance of both the defense and the destruction of the city and the consequent evolution that was unleashed in the means and methods of the armies to achieve or prevent the capture of the city.

Summary
The Mogao Caves, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, constitute an exceptional testimony to cultural exchange along the Silk Road for over a thousand years. This study examines its 735 caves with 4,500 square meters of mural paintings and 2,415 sculptures, highlighting its role as a bridge between East and West. Currently, it faces challenges such as tourist pressure, climate change, and the need for conservation specialists. The research documents significant progress: stabilization of 95% of the caves through 15 innovative techniques, 3D digitization of 120 caves, and community programs like Heritage Guardians. Staged solutions are proposed: completing replicas (2024-2026), implementing AI for monitoring (2027-2030), and consolidating the site as a global model (2031-2035). The study demonstrates that the combination of technology (environmental sensors, 3D scanning), international cooperation (Getty Conservation Institute, UNESCO) and local participation enables the preservation of this legacy. As noted by Wang Xudong, director of the Dunhuang Academy: Preserving Mogao is a duty to humanity. The results confirm that, despite challenges, integrated strategies ensure its long-term protection.

Summary
The assessment of archaeological data quality constitutes a fundamental methodological challenge that the discipline has tended to avoid, being particularly relevant in contexts with long research traditions where data obtained through very diverse methodologies coexist. This work develops a systematic methodology for evaluating archaeological data quality based on vagueness management, applying it to the study of ten archaeological sites in the eastern mountains of León, from Prehistory to the Early Medieval period. Through a structured questionnaire that evaluates seven specific data problems, it seeks to calculate vagueness indices to obtain a Global Quality Index. Results show that 50% of the sites are situated in an optimal quadrant (high reliability and confidence), 30% are problematic, and 20% are in transitional positions. The most frequent problems identified are temporal imprecision (present in 7 out of 10 sites) and methodological bias (in all cases). The developed methodology demonstrates its operational capacity to structure critical reflection on archaeological data, although limitations persist due to the inherent subjectivity of evaluation. The system constitutes a valuable guidance tool for prioritizing future interventions and optimizing research resources, representing an advance toward a more reflective and methodologically rigorous archaeology.
