The course analyzes the problems most directly related to performance, that is, it pays attention to the particularities that affect managers acting at the lower levels of the organizational structure, with direct competence and responsibility in the direction and control of work; in other words, this course pays attention to the application or utilization of the process. Among others, it pays attention to the following contents: time and motion studies and work scheduling, work measurement, work scheduling, work control, corrective action and rescheduling.
The discipline complements subjects related to Work Organization and Management: Work Organization and Work Process Design.

Contribution to the general competences of the degree:
- Locate, analyze, synthesize and manage different types and sources of information.
- Work individually and in teams.
- Present and defend adequately, orally and/or in writing, an issue or topic of a general nature or related to their specialty.
Contribution to the specific competences of the degree:
-Differentiate, describe and apply techniques, as well as make decisions in the organizational and human resources management field.
Specific competences of the subject:
Development of the ability to identify work operations, skills for performance scheduling and task assignment, as well as skills for performance monitoring and corrective decision making.
The content of the program will be developed in the theoretical and practical classes provided for this purpose, in which the basic bibliographical references for the study of each topic explained will be provided.
The course will have a virtual classroom and the Microsoft Teams platform will be used.
Lectures and practical sessions with problem solving, text commentary and case analysis, mainly face-to-face, in the established schedule and classrooms, using the virtual classroom for downloading materials and for the delivery of assignments. Tutorials may be face-to-face or virtual (through the virtual classroom messaging or Microsoft Teams).
The evaluation of the subject is carried out following a continuous evaluation process in which all the activities to be performed throughout the term are taken into account.
This evaluation will take into account aspects such as clarity and expository capacity, mastery of the terminology of the subject or active participation, with a weight in the final evaluation of 50% and a final exam focused primarily on the evaluation of the knowledge acquired, with a weight in the final evaluation of 50%.
In the case of fraudulent completion of cases, exercises or tests, the provisions of the "Regulations for the evaluation of the academic performance of students and grade review" will apply.
In order to pass the course, students must obtain a grade higher or equal to 5 (out of 10) in the exam and the aggregate grade of exam and activities must also be higher or equal to 5 (out of 10).
In case of not passing the course, the final grade will be the one obtained in the exam.
Attendance to both lectures and interactive classes is compulsory, unless the student is granted a dispensation of attendance following the Instruction N. 1/2017, of the General Secretariat, on the dispensation of class attendance in certain circumstances. Students who are granted the dispensation will be evaluated with a specific final exam that will account for 100% of the final grade.
The assignments, cases, exercises and tests may be carried out in person or virtually, by means of the virtual classroom, the presentations of work, if applicable, will preferably be in person. The final exam will be face-to-face.

Scenario 2: distance learning
Non-face-to-face lectures, using audiovisual material in the virtual classroom (asynchronous use) or Microsoft Teams (sessions taught synchronously) and practical sessions with problem solving, text commentary and case analysis, preferably face-to-face, using the virtual classroom for downloading materials and for the delivery of assignments. The tutorials will preferably be conducted virtually (through the virtual classroom messaging system or Microsoft Teams).
Scenario 3: closing of the facilities
Non-presential expository classes, preferably through audiovisual material in the virtual classroom (asynchronous use) and practical sessions with problem solving, text commentary and case analysis, preferably through Microsoft Teams (sessions given synchronously, during the established class schedule), using the virtual classroom for the presentation of complementary audiovisual material and for the delivery of homework assignments. The tutorials will be carried out exclusively in a virtual way (through the virtual classroom messaging or through Microsoft Teams).
Evaluation system
The cases, exercises and tests will be carried out as follows:
Scenario 2: distancing.
The assignments, cases, exercises and tests will be prepared and delivered through the virtual classroom. The presentations, if any, and the final exam will be done in person or telematically according to the rules established by the Rectorate and the Dean's Office and the health measures established at that time.
Scenario 3: closure of facilities.
The assignments, cases, exercises and tests, including the final exam, will be prepared and delivered through the virtual classroom. Presentations, if applicable, will be made telematically, preferably through Microsoft Teams.
