- The subject must provide to the students the necessary knowledge about the assets deterioration factors to be integrated into a multidisciplinary team for studies or plans of restoration and / or preservation.
- So they must acquire the ability to interpret and integrate information in a historical artistic restoration project or preventive conservation of a monument or other work of art.
-The Teaching methodology will be mainly theoretical classes, but student participation will be encouraged and allowed time for discussion at the end of each session.
-The Performance of the work is also considered a learning activity in which the students take an active role
- Attendance at lectures and active participation in them
- The ability to apply knowledge acquired through a compulsory labor that each student can choose between the proposed and tutored by professors Rafael Robaina Romero and Beatriz Prieto Lamas.
- Proposal of Professor Rafael Robaina: Students will have to work on an item (s) from those discussed in class focused its analysis on the affected property (art-historical importance), the description of the living (beings live) partners, the conditions that allow development and diagnostic techniques used. Although the election is free, they will be recommended for some more appropriate affordable. It will be possible to address an overview of all the literature as work.
- Proposal by the teacher Beatriz Prieto Lamas: It is performed on a building of historical and artistic interest chosen by the student the following study: art-historical review (style, period of construction and possible reconstruction); identify the construction materials and their possible origin (relying on maps or previous work); characterize the environment in which the building (based on information found in Internet weather stations and environmental control) is; visually identify the forms of deterioration (based on the knowledge acquired in class and in the bibliography provided), and finally reason about the possible causes of deterioration and criteria for restoration and / or preservation.
- Active participation in the classroom activities scheduled: 50%
- Compulsory work: 50%
