Summary
This Master’s Thesis analyzes the feasibility of establishing an Asian supermarket in the city of Lugo. The choice of this location is justified by the growing interest of the local population in Asian cuisine, the presence of international students on the university campus, and the limited direct competition in this segment. The main objective is to assess whether the project is viable in commercial, technical, and economic-financial terms. To this end, a market study has been carried out through surveys, a competitor analysis, and a SWOT analysis. Likewise, a marketing plan has been developed, covering product assortment, pricing strategy, promotion, and distribution. On the technical side, the location, store size, staffing, and equipment needs have been defined. Finally, the economic-financial section has been developed using the MODELEVA tool, which enables detailed projections of results, balance sheets, and cash flows. The results indicate that there is real demand for this type of establishment, reinforced by consumption trends and the growing multiculturalism in Lugo. The initial investment is estimated at €65,678, but financial projections show that this contribution alone is not sufficient. During the first four years, it is necessary to increase capital to around €150,000, along with short-term debt, to cover initial losses. From the fifth year onward, the project reaches breakeven and cash flow improves progressively. The NPV is slightly positive and the IRR barely exceeds the cost of capital, confirming the viability of the project with reduced margins. In conclusion, this is a viable project with consolidation potential, provided it is prudently managed during the initial phase and a loyal customer base is secured.
