Summary
The constant success of the BNG in successive regional elections has led many authors to become interested in the source of this success and in the woman who led this success, Ana Pontón. This research will seek to analyse the candidate's campaign speech in the regional elections of 2016, 2020 and 2024. To do this, we will use critical discourse analysis (CDA) and complement this with three interviews with the candidate Ana Pontón, the coordinator of the BNG communication area Xavier Campos and the coordinator of the 2016, 2020 and 2024 BNG campaigns Rubén Cela. From this research we can talk about feminism and political change (construction of the alternative) as keys in Ana Pontón's campaign speech, also being able to highlight the importance of emotions in order to better connect with the voter and the use of discursive resources to support the arguments of the speech.

Abstract: Suicide is the leading cause of unnatural death in Spain, and its increase has been observed since 2008. As an emerging factor, Covid-19 has triggered significant and concerning collateral effects, particularly among children and adolescents, contributing to the rise in suicide rates and suicide attempts among young people. This study aims to clarify the risk factors leading young people to consider suicide, explore the approaches used in research, and review the public interventions being implemented to address this issue and their effects.

Summary
This study presents a comprehensive analysis of the evolution and current state of public innovation policies in Galicia, focusing on the period between 1999 and 2024, as well as future prospects up to 2027. Based on the premise that innovation is an essential tool for the economic and social development of regions, the study explores in detail the main strategic plans adopted by the Xunta de Galicia, such as the Galician Research and Technological Development Plan (1999/2001), the INCITE Plan (2006/2010), the Galicia Innova Strategy, the I2C Plan (2011/2015), and the Smart Specialisation Strategy RIS3 Galicia (2014/2020 and 2021/2027). The theoretical framework of this work is mainly grounded in two approaches: the Theory of Regional Innovation Systems (RIS) and the Triple Helix model (university/industry/government). These models allow for the analysis of dynamic interaction and institutional learning among key actors within the Galician regional system. To contextualize Galicia’s position in terms of innovation, a rigorous comparative analysis is conducted using key indicators such as R+D expenditure as a percentage of GDP, the number of researchers per thousand employees, patent applications per million inhabitants, and the share of private sector investment in total innovation spending. This comparison is carried out against the averages for Spain and the European Union, enabling the identification of significant strengths and weaknesses within Galicia’s innovation ecosystem. Finally, the study offers specific recommendations to improve the effectiveness of future Galician public policies in the field of innovation, emphasizing the need to increase private sector involvement, strengthen technology transfer, foster regional strategic sectors, and make effective use of European funds aimed at digital and ecological transitions.

Summary
One of the major challenges contemporary political theory is facing lies in clarifying the ideological nebula surrounding the idea of democracy. Disputes over the ideas limits seem to be endless, as the perseverance of the debate attests since Classical Antiquity. Nor does the complexity of the problem seem to have any limits, as its magnitude seems disproportionate given that the idea involves in its definition numerous concepts from the most diverse origins of Political Science, the large heterogeneous group that encompasses the sub-disciplines of “the political”. To adopt the path of a normative study from defined coordinates seems a necessary and even mandatory moment to confront. It particularly becames mandatory if the aim is to understand the underlying disputes, as is the aim here, to finally answer a constantly repeated question in its two ways (positive and negative): What is democracy? What ceases to be democracy?

Summary
This study analyzes the political discourse of the far-right parties VOX (Spain) and Chega (Portugal) through a qualitative methodology, namely content analysis. The research is based on the main discursive axes of the far right: populism, nationalism, and neoliberalism. The study shows how these parties construct a polarizing political narrative aimed at appealing to the people in opposition to the elites, internal enemies, and external threats, revealing both significant similarities and differences in their discursive strategies.

Summary
This work focuses on the analysis of the phenomenon of the extreme right in Spain, taking Vox and the 23J General Elections as a case study. As a theoretical basis, different terms are taken as reference with which the phenomenon of the extreme right has been called, the different waves that occurred in Europe and a series of theories that explain the vote for these political parties. There is a brief exposition of the origins of the contemporary extreme right in Spain and a chronology with the most important moments in the history of Vox, which include the last three general elections. For the methodology, a quantitative approach is used by carrying out a statistical analysis of Study 3420-Barometer of September 2023. Post-electoral General Elections 2023 of the CIS. The success of Vox responds to a combination of economic and sociodemographic factors, but above all to the political predispositions of citizens.

Summary
Public sector efficiency is a common demand among citizens in all democratic countries. The optimization of public resources affects all members of society, and the collective imagination often assumes that such resources are not being used properly that their allocation is inefficient. Concepts such as wastefulness, ineffectiveness, or corruption are frequently associated with public administrations. This leads me, both as a citizen and as a student in this field, to question whether it must always be this way, whether change is possible, and whether there are tools that can be used by both organizational leaders and the public to evaluate government performance. From my personal perspective, I believe that in a world of limited resources, it is essential to manage them in the most effective way possible and to place them at the service of people. An efficient public administration is, therefore, a sine qua non condition for achieving this goal. This academic work aims to explore the main techniques used to measure efficiency in public administration, in order to assess their feasibility and the analytical perspectives they provide. The goal is to compare them and, above all, to evaluate how useful they can be in delivering meaningful information to both citizens and organizations. In a democratic system, I believe that the way public administration operates is just as important as the ability to explain how and why decisions are made. The study of these techniques will be accompanied by a politicalinstitutional analysis of their potential application, aiming to align the characteristics of the methods with a real world context.

This Final Degree Project (TFG) analyses how the Spanish extreme right, represented by political parties such as Vox or leaders/influencers such as Alvise Pérez, uses social networks to propagate disinformation and polarising discourses. Thus, using a mixed methodology, we analyse the strategies used on the Twitter/X and TikTok platforms during the European elections held in 2024. This work reveals how these political actors use manipulative and emotional content to influence public opinion, negatively affecting the quality of democracy.

Summary
This research examines the potential of nudges. non-coercive behavioral tools, to reduce household food waste. Using an Agent-Based Model (ABM), it simulates the impact of three interventions: waste monitoring (Hawthorne effect), fridge magnets with visual messages, and recipe cards on supermarket products. Results show that combining these nudges significantly reduces waste, though their effectiveness critically depends on external observation and diminishes over time.

Summary
This work provides an exhaustive analysis of two key instruments in the financing of the European Union (EU): the European Regional Development Fund (FEDER) and the Recovery and Resilience Mechanism (MRR). Both arise from the actions of European institutions, but present significant differences in their objectives, characteristics, and implementation mechanisms. The FEDER, created in 1975, is one of the main financial resources of the European Commission, with an allocation of approximately 226 billion euros for the period 2021-2027. Its main objective is to promote economic, social, and territorial cohesion in the different regions of Europe, correcting imbalances and fostering balanced development through the co-financing of public spending policies in areas such as innovation, digitalization, infrastructure, employment, and entrepreneurship. On the other hand, the MRR is a temporary instrument endowed with 672.5 billion euros, launched as part of the Next Generation EU plan to respond to the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic. Its main objective is to support member states in overcoming the crisis, driving the transition towards a sustainable and digitalized economy, through initiatives in decarbonization, energy efficiency, the circular economy, biodiversity protection, and the digitalization of public administration and society. The study highlights that the FEDER focuses on long-term development and regional cohesion, while the MRR has a more immediate and short-term focus, centered on economic recovery and resilience, with an emphasis on the green and digital transitions. Likewise, the criteria for resource allocation, the mechanisms for evaluation and monitoring, and the governance models of both funds are analyzed. The importance of administrative capacity for the correct execution of the funds is underlined, and it is exemplified how both contribute tangibly to the progress of the EU, both at the local and regional levels.

This paper, focused on the city of Palma (Mallorca), examines the implementation of the Right to the City in municipal policies carried out between 2020 and 2024. Combining a critical theoretical approach with the practical application of the guide Towards the Implementation of the Right to the City (Observatorio DESC, 2022), it reveals a constant tension between the collective rights of citizens and the power of the market. The results show a limited number of policies aimed at building a just and democratic city, as well as multiple structural shortcomings that evidence the violation of the Right to the City in Palma.

This research consists of describing and detailing the way in which this final degree project will be structured. The first thing we will do is, a general introduction of the work and the topic, where, among other aspects, we will discuss the justification for having chosen this topic and the importance it may have. Then we will explain what we understand by this term called digitization, explaining what we mean when we talk about it, as well as the relevance that can be given to the digitization process. Subsequently, we will go through an analysis of the current context, reviewing the situation in which the 17 Autonomous Communities are, and we will also try to cohere and link the subject with the degree and the subjects that compose it. Once the previous point has been completed, the next step will be a more exhaustive and in-depth analysis of some Autonomous Communities in particular. Actually, this point works in the same way as the previous one, with the only difference that we reduce the amount considerably, to provide a greater depth in the subject instead. Towards the end of this research, there is a section where we discuss the difficulties and challenges that can be foreseen for the future or those that have not yet been resolved. Finally, there would be a final section to make some small conclusions about this research, trying to compile in a brief way the results obtained during the elaboration of this research

Summary
This Final Degree Project (TFG) analyzes the current situation of Primary Care (PC) in Galicia, highlighting its essential role as a gateway to the public health system and the serious problems that affect it. The investigation starts from the confirmation of a structural crisis aggravated by the implementation of the Integrated Management Organizational Structure (EOXI) model, which caused a centralization of management, loss of autonomy in regional areas and weakening of PC in favor of hospital care. Through a qualitative methodology based on semi-structured interviews with representatives of city platforms and spokespersons of two main political parties of the Galician Parliament, as well as documentary analysis of official reports and the press, the study collects perceptions and proposals in front of the AP crisis. The platforms denounce the lack of professionals, precarious contracts, long waiting lists, temporary shortages of centers and saturation of emergency services, which especially affects rural areas and vulnerable populations.

Summary
This undergraduate thesis will analyze the electoral effects and the impact on the party system of the rural urban divide across the European Union. As the object of analysis to study this divide, the results from urban and rural areas in the last three European elections: 2014, 2019, and 2024, will be used. Based on the study of these results and a review of the existing literature on the ideological positions of political parties, as well as on the effects that the rural urban divide has on party systems, it will be concluded that this divide has grown in importance in most of the countries analyzed. Furthermore, it will be observed that Eurosceptic right wing parties tend, in general, to increasingly concentrate their support in rural areas across most EU countries.

Summary
This work focuses on a review of existing research that connects the Social Sciences (specifically, International Relations) with technology (and, in greater detail, quantum technology). Thus, this research seeks to approach the international environment from a more modern perspective, emphasizing the effects that technology and quantum concepts have on notions such as power, cooperation, and conflict, as well as the issues they generate concerning the rights and freedoms of all citizens. In this way, this study concludes that technology and its derivatives are seen as one of the causes of conflicts, and that an approach based on quantum knowledge may offer a different perspective on international matters.

Summary
The fight against transnational terrorism has become a central pillar of the United Nations’ multilateral action in the 21st century. This paper analyzes the development of its counterterrorism strategies between 2001 and 2014. Special attention is given to the context shaped by the emergence of non-state actors such as Al-Qaeda and the Islamic State, and by the urgent need to adapt multilateral mechanisms to decentralized threats. A qualitative methodology is used, based on Security Council resolutions, official documents, and specialized literature. The study begins with the initial response to the September 11 attacks and traces the main phases of this evolution, leading to institutional adaptation to emerging threats. It also addresses the tensions between security and the protection of human rights, as well as the strengths and limitations of the multilateral approach. The analysis concludes that the United Nations has developed a solid normative framework, although challenges remain regarding democratic legitimacy, effectiveness, and internal coherence.

Three years have passed since the russo-ukrainian conflict began, claiming tens of thousands of lives and causing upheaval for the Western bloc on the international stage. However, the story of this conflict is not only one of military struggles but also of diplomatic efforts, reflected in the mostly failed attempts to negotiate an agreement that would bring peace and stability to the region. Will the newly elected U.S. President Donald Trump rise to the challenge of ending this conflict through diplomatic means?

Summary
In recent years, political communication has become a field of study and work with profound theoretical and professional development, given the importance that the digital revolution and the emergence of new technological tools have had on communication in the political and institutional arena. This is a global event, and therefore, the Galician case is no exception. In this regard, the following pages seek to describe the application of these new communication trends, as well as the communication management carried out within the Galician political system, especially within the framework of the Xunta de Galicia government and as it affects the country's main political forces.

Summary
This thesis addresses the background, characteristics, and proposals of the political and social theory of English distributism by consulting its main sources, especially Hilaire Belloc and G.K. Chesterton. Two hypotheses are also raised and discussed: on the one hand, the primacy of the theological and anthropological aspects over the political ones; and, on the other hand, the denial that distributism is an ideology. Finally, some criticisms of the movement in question are addressed, as well as some of the influences it exerted on other personalities and movements throughout different parts of the globe. The objective is to describe and study, in its different facets, a 20th-century political proposal that, although influential, is generally less addressed compared to other political movements.

Summary
This research work explores the role of emotions in the political discourse of a populist leader, focusing on the specific case of Javier Milei, recently appointed president of the Argentine nation. Through an exhaustive coding of his speeches at key events, the predominant emotions are identified and analyzed. The results show that negative emotions, such as concern, pessimism, criticism, and frustration, dominate his rhetoric, although positive emotions such as hope, pride, and optimism are also highlighted to a lesser extent. This study contributes to a deeper understanding of how populist leaders use emotions to mobilize their followers, offering valuable insights for contemporary political analysis.

Summary
Recently, the degree of animosity between the supporters of the parties that make up the Spanish political system has increased notably. On this basis, this paper analyses the evolution of the three elements that form political polarization, i.e. ideological extremism, ideological polarization and affective polarization. Based on the calculation of indicators for the evaluation of these components, the bibliographical review of the subject under study and the consequent explanation of the characteristics of the Spanish political system and its corresponding media system, an analysis is presented that shows high levels of polarization within the Spanish electorate. Likewise, the results of each indicator have been segmented for each one of the main parties throughout the period analysed, which has allowed for a more exhaustive study of the phenomenon.

Summary
This paper analyses the efficiency of public spending in majority and coalition governments. Its objective is to assess whether these, in addition to varying their form and management, do so in terms of control and allocation of resources. Subsequently, whether it is more efficient to relate them to the electoral results of each government in a given period and to determine where spending is higher. All this is done through the study of theories to generate hypotheses and, subsequently, to contrast them with statistical analysis.

Summary
Over the past century, economic crises have tested the role of the State as a regulator. This paper provides a comprehensive study of three major crises (the Great Depression of 1929, the Great Recession of 2008, and the COVID-19 crisis in 2020) and evaluates the success of the public policies implemented. It examines specific public policies through examples from various countries and analyzes state intervention from a theoretical perspective. The findings show that the State's ability to act swiftly, in a coordinated and equitable manner is crucial to mitigating the socioeconomic effects of crises. The study concludes by emphasizing the usefulness of these lessons for future crises.

Summary
This study will carry out an in-depth analysis of the Spanish public pension system, exploring its origins, evolution, and the most recent reforms aimed at ensuring its sustainability in a context of profound demographic and labor change. Beginning with the pay-as-you-go model established during the Franco regime, it describes how this system was consolidated as an instrument of social cohesion and political legitimacy, leveraging a favorable demographic context and the social discipline imposed by the regime. However, increasing life expectancy, low birth rates, and labor market fragmentation in recent decades have created a structural imbalance between workers’ contributions and the pensions received by retirees. The study pays particular attention to the 2021 and 2023 reforms, which, while improving social protection and reversing past cuts, have not resolved the underlying tensions between contributory proportionality and the redistributive nature of the system. Current contributions function more as a tax than as personal savings for retirement, undermining the legitimacy perceived by active generations. Furthermore, the difficulty of implementing profound structural changes is highlighted, given political and cultural resistance and the conflicting interests between generations. The analysis concludes that, although recent reforms are an important step, the system requires a more ambitious redefinition to adapt to new demographic and labor realities and to guarantee its sustainability and legitimacy in the 21st century.
