Summary
This Final Degree Thesis addresses the development and validation of deep reinforcement lear- ning algorithms applied to autonomous navigation of unmanned ground vehicles (UGVs). The main objective is to design, train, and evaluate intelligent agents capable of operating in unk- nown environments. In the first place, a theoretical framework on reinforcement learning, neu- ral networks, and the most relevant algorithms is presented, including Proximal Policy Optimi- zation (PPO), Soft Actor-Critic (SAC), and Twin Delayed Deep Deterministic Policy Gradient (TD3). Secondly, the robot used, the different environments in which it was trained, and the re- inforcement learning problem are explained. Both the robot and environments were modeled with Pybullet, and the RL problem was modeled with Gymnasium. Finally, different agents were trained with PPO and SAC algorithms, comparing them, var- ying parameters, and performing curriculum learning with the former. The results show that PPO offers faster and more stable learning than SAC. It was also observed that greater initial exploration can be beneficial for learning, shortening the training time. Lastly, it is shown how using curriculum learning allows for achieving very complex policies, which would otherwise be impossible or require a large amount of training and parameter optimization.

Summary
The purpose of this technical study is to evaluate the quality status of surface water bodies in Galicia, using as a reference the records of microbiological and chemical indicators from various public environmental monitoring programs between 2008 and 2022. The main microbiological and chemical parameters studied were Escherichia coli, intestinal enterococci, phosphorus, ammonium, nitrates, and total nitrogen. The data collected were processed using Geographic Information Systems (GIS) to determine those geographical areas where pollution processes occur on a recurring basis. The thresholds applied to determine the existence of pollution in surface water bodies were selected from among the main regulations currently in force. The characterization of the different water bodies studied, was complemented by the register of discharges authorized by the hydrographic confederations, the register of polluting and non-polluting discharges, as well as the parameters analyzed at the Wastewater Treatment Plants (WWTP) and the layout of the sanitation networks and collectors in the provinces of Lugo and Pontevedra. In addition, the inventory of water bodies classified as eutrophic or at risk of eutrophication was incorporated, as well as bathing areas identified as having insufficient quality and with a permanent ban on bathing due to microbiological contamination. The analysis concludes that, among the different parameters analyzed, phosphorus is the one with the highest proportion of non-compliance in all water bodies in Galicia, with analytical results that considerably exceed the thresholds set by the applicable regulations. A positive gradient of pollution indicators was observed from the upper to the middle and lower courses, as the water bodies pass through urban areas, with deficiencies in sanitation systems having a greater influence on non-compliance than agricultural and livestock activities.

Summary
This is a 15 x 30 meter warehouse to house machinery for a cattle farm. Located in Taboada (Lugo). The plot on which the building will be built is owned by the developer and is maintained as a natural pasture, with no productive use, through periodic clearing. It has vehicle access, the possibility of connection to the electricity grid, a water supply, and a connection to the sewage system. The farm is a family business, dedicated exclusively to dairy production. The developer currently rents a warehouse to a neighbor, who charges €3,000 per year. The developer has told the developer that they need the warehouse and need to remove the machinery from there. For this reason, they have decided to build the warehouse on a property adjacent to the production barn. The objective of the project is to define the facilities for the covered storage of the farm's machinery, providing sufficient space for easy maneuverability.

Summary
The project aims to organise hunting activities in the shared Hunting Ground (TECOR) ‘SAMPAIO, MARZÁN AND LOUSADELA’ for the seasons 2026/2027 to 2030/2031, with the aim of achieving sustainable and profitable use of its hunting resources. This TECOR has two quarters, the ‘Marzán’ quarter with 1,295.23 hectares and the ‘Lousadela’ quarter with 774 hectares, totalling 2,069.23 hectares. A comprehensive analysis of the legal, socio-economic, environmental and hunting situation of the TECOR was carried out. Inventories of the species hunted were made using the Finnish transect census method. The territory was stratified on the basis of the vegetation present and eight transects of between 5 and 8 km each were made in order to estimate the following densities: for roe deer (Capreolus capreolus), the average density is 5.1 ind/km2, which is optimal; for wild boar (Sus scrofa) it is 1.5 ind/km2, which is an average value in the province of Lugo; for foxes (Vulpes vulpes) it is slightly low (1.1 ind/km2); for the red-legged partridge (Alectoris rufa) it is 2.5 ind/km2, which is considered an average and good value for hunting; and for the rabbit (Oryctolagus cuniculus) the density is 0.9 ind/km2, which is a low value. The desirable populations for each species were determined by calculating the carrying capacity of the environment, based on technical literature and information provided by TECOR hunters. Based on actual and desirable densities, the following catch limits were established: for small game species, it was calculated that 23 individuals per year would be allowed for rabbits, 34 for red-legged partridges and 80 for wood pigeons; on the other hand, the corncrake and hare remain closed seasons; as for large game species, 45 individuals per year are established for roe deer; for wild boar, 7 in the first season, 20 in the second and third seasons, and 30 in subsequent seasons; finally, for foxes, hunting will be prohibited in the first season, 17 individuals are established in the second season, and 20 in subsequent seasons. The following improvement measures are planned: replacement of signage, planting, clearing, review of game preserves and repopulation for hunting. The budget for the five-year period is €12,614.21, which can be covered by the income from the annual membership fees.

Summary
This study analyzes the evolution of consumption habits of different types of cheese and other dairy products, such as yogurt, cream, and butter, over a 25-year period, from 1999 to 2024, in Galicia and in comparison with Spain as a whole. Given the 25-year time series, it is possible to observe market developments in detail, considering the various social circumstances experienced in Spain at the beginning of this century, which are clearly reflected in changes in consumption habits. Among the most relevant factors are the 2008 economic crisis, the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, and the current period of price inflation. The project is based on a comparative analysis of variables that mainly reflect the evolution of prices and consumption volume. As a result, it provides an overview of how the market has evolved, the reasons behind these changes, and the prospects for continuity in the coming years.

Summary
This Final Degree Project focuses on the preparation and drafting of the management plan for the communal forest (Monte Maior, San Roque e Penedo do Galo), owned by the residents of the parishes of Santa María and Santiago de Viveiro, in the province of Lugo. The forest covers 400.84 ha, divided into two plots. The project was motivated by the need to update the forest management, since it is a communal forest of over 25 hectares in a single block, and the last management plan dates to 2004. The plan aims to enhance the social and environmental sustainability of the forest, while maintaining its economic and productive viability. In developing this updated plan, previous studies were considered, especially the last management plan requested by the community in September 2004. The current legal framework and the community’s needs as of January 2025 were also taken into account, with the goal of proposing a forest management plan aligned with these criteria and regulations.

Summary
Over a period of eleven months, pests, diseases, and beneficial fauna were monitored, alongside the recording of weather conditions and the phenological development of crops according to the BBCH scale, in a collection of pome and stone fruit tree varieties located in the practice fields of the Escola Politécnica Superior de Enxeñaría, at the Terra campus in Lugo. This monitoring enabled the correlation of the phenological stages of each crop with the emergence and progression of harmful organisms. Analysis of the data revealed that the main diseases identified were of fungal origin: papery canker, apple scab, and powdery mildew in apple; scab in pear; cylindrosporiosis in cherry; and rust and shot hole in plum. Most pests were successfully controlled through the action of beneficial fauna (predators). However, in certain cases, intervention thresholds were exceeded, as in the case of C. dispar and green aphid in apple, blister mite in pear, and black aphid in cherry. Uncommon pests for these crops were also detected (species that do not usually affect them), whose presence was favoured by the mixed-crop environment of the orchard. Additionally, other pests were observed that, despite affecting the crops, are not included in the official Integrated Pest Management (IPM) guidelines. The high variability of the orchard, together with the complexity of its surrounding environment, clearly highlights the differences between this type of setting and conventional commercial fruit orchards. The analysis of weather conditions indicated the potential influence of anomalies recorded in 2024 (abundant spring rainfall and unusually mild winter temperatures) on the persistence of pests and the increase in fungal diseases. Finally, this study underscores the importance of applying the current regulations established in Royal Decree 1311/2012, which further restricts the use of plant protection products in urban areas or near sensitive sites, such as educational institutions or facilities for people with disabilities. These recommendations were incorporated into the advisory work, applying the principles of integrated pest management, with priority given to preventive strategies and non-chemical control methods.

Summary
This study aims to assess the suitability of the different proposed forest uses at the parish scale, integrating complex territorial data (biophysical, regulatory, and social) into a multicriteria model in QGIS. The methodology is structured around field inventories, validation with local knowledge, and the reclassification of comparative criteria on a 0 5 scale, complemented by regulatory and environmental restrictions (buffer strips, riparian protection zones, and the eucalyptus moratorium). The outcome consists of three cartographic products for each use: raw suitability, final suitability, and average suitability per plot, which allow for a direct interpretation of the viability of the proposed uses. This assessment encompasses timber production (conifers and broadleaves), silvopastoral systems, beekeeping, mycology, resin tapping, and hop cultivation, thus diversifying forest management, enhancing its potential, and preventing land abandonment. The study incorporates criteria of green infrastructure, buffer zones, and ecological corridors, taking into account proximity to habitats and their compatibility with current land uses. In this way, it defines a multifunctional agroforestry mosaic that strengthens resilience to wildfires, integrates the ecological dimension with productive uses, and seeks to foster the interest of younger generations. At the organizational level, the study proposes a governance model based on the Joint Management Association, which brings together landowners, public administrations, and social stakeholders, coordinating actions within a common framework. As a follow-up, it foresees the development of a 10-year Joint Management Plan, supported by a green infrastructure strategy for the parish and by training and monitoring programs, with the aim of consolidating a forest management approach that is structured, sustainable, participatory, and replicable in other parishes.

Summary
This project proposes a new vision of the planning, parcelling and urbanism, already proposed and approved, but not fully executed, in the Industrial Sectorial Plan for the As Gándaras Business Park (municipality of Lugo). All of the information related to the new proposal is presented, including the area plans, referred to as UZPI-1.I. The aforementioned project consists of a total of 9 stages of urbanization, affecting a total area of 2.1 million square metres, half of which will be allocated to accommodate 268 plots for industrial use. The working area covered by the project has a floor area of 711,585.47 m2, or approximately 71.16 hectares. The coordinates of the geometric centre of the working area are 43º 02' 28’’N and 7º 31' 10’’W. The project includes an Excel spreadsheet, in which the maximum relative buildability is broken down into sub-areas, detailing the maximum occupation, maximum buildability and the maximum number of floors proposed for the area. The project also includes a proposal for service networks (gas, water, electricity, telecommunications, etc.) supported by the existing services in the already executed area, as indicated in the project title, as it involves the expansion and not the creation of new infrastructures. Finally, the graphical Plans outlining the projected work are presented, along with the project execution Budget, including the total cost of the work, which amounts to 24.409.993,72 €.

Summary
The purpose of this project is the planning and drafting of the Plan for the Improvement and the Management of the Boicalvo fishery reserve in the medium-high stretch of the Lengüelle river. The beat is 8.8 km long, with a catchment area of about 61.86 km2 and an average slope of the catchment area of 12.28%. A study of the physical environment, a physico-chemical and biological analysis of the water was carried out at to determine the state of the beat and to find out which characteristics need to be changed or improved. Obstacles as well as refuges were observed along the river. All of these were assessed and inventoried in this Plan. The present project also consists on a fish inventory where the conditions of the fish populations, in this case made up exclusively of trout, were studied. The objectives of the promoter, in this case the Consellería de Medio Ambiente y Cambio Climático, and the interested parties, the Sociedad de Pesca y Conservación del Lengüelle, are to regulate the exploitation of trout for a sustainable management of the resources and to apply improvements that favour both fish and anglers. The Management Plan will last 3 years, during which time it is decided to do catch and release fishing in the first two years. After an analysis of the populations and the conditions of the river to check whether the measures and objectives are being met, in the last year is planned to do normal fishing.

Summary
The present project aims to design and calculate the works required for the construction and commissioning of a calf fattening, which will allow the community of communal forest Boimente to carry out the finishing of 120 calves annually, raised on the communal pastures of the Communal Land of Buio. The fattening barn will have the capacity to simultaneously house 60 calves, enabling the fattening of two batches per year. The calves will remain housed for a period of 7 to 10 months, with the objective of being marketed under the IGP “Ternera Gallega,” with the certification “Ternera Gallega Suprema.” The barn will have dimensions of 54.40 m in length, 20.40 m in width, and a ridge height of 6.70 m. The structure will be composed of prefabricated concrete elements, a sandwich panel roof, and enclosing walls made of prefabricated hollow-core concrete panels. The foundation will consist of footings and tie beams of reinforced concrete executed on site. The contract execution budget amounts to €666.688,27. The estimated execution period of the works is 73 working days.
