O patrimonio e a cultura, nun sentido amplo, son dous dos elementos definitorios de Galicia e da Euro-rexión Suroeste europea; de acordo co seu impacto social, o valor dos recursos patrimoniais e culturais enténdese en primeiro lugar como un factor para promover a educación e a integración social nas respectivas comunidades.
Dentro do proceso de cambio derivado da transición ecolóxica e dixital en que nos atopamos, o patrimonio e a cultura veñen actuando como eixos chave para a diferenciación e incremento de valor engadido de sectores e industrias como o turismo, as industrias culturais e mesmo os videoxogos, entre outros, cunha forte taxa de crecemento actual e expectativa futura. En todos eles o patrimonio cultural dixital supón un substrato único con capacidade de atracción de novo talento e retención do capital humano do euro-rexión, clave no desenvolvemento futuro.

Además de la información ofrecida a los estudiantes de último curso por la Universidad de Santiago de Compostela, la Facultad de Geografía e Historia realizar una presentación específica de los másteres que se imparten en la Facultad en la que se cuenta con la participación de las personas que ejercen la coordinación, así como con una representación en su caso de estudiantes egresados.
Por otra parte, los másteres realizan actividades de presentación específicas una vez que comienza el curso académico, que se concretan en jornadas de bienvenida, conferencias inaugurales y presentación de los docentes y materias del título que se imparte. Estas actividades se coordinan por la comisión académica del máster en conexión con la Comisión de Calidad del Centro.

The objectives of the syllabus are as follows:
- The Master in Digital Cultural Heritage aims to to train qualified experts in the construction, management and dissemination of digital heritage.
- The Master's student will be able to offer
solutions for the digital treatment of heritage in all its meanings.
- The courses taught in the Master's programme combine humanistic and technological knowledge in order to meet a growing and underserved need for human resources.
The training in this Master's Degree aims to contribute to the generation of an endogenous productive fabric in the Southwest Europe.
- Possess and understand knowledge that provides a basis or opportunity for originality in the development and/or application of ideas, often in a research context.
- Students are able to apply their acquired knowledge and problem-solving skills in new or unfamiliar environments within broader (or multidisciplinary) contexts related to their field of study.
- Students are able to integrate knowledge and deal with the complexity of making judgements based on incomplete or limited information, including reflections on the social and ethical responsibilities associated with the application of their knowledge and judgements.
- Students are able to communicate their conclusions and the ultimate knowledge and rationale behind them to specialist and non-specialist audiences in a clear and unambiguous way.
- Students possess the learning skills that will enable them to continue studying in a largely self-directed or autonomous way.

La movilidad de los/as estudiantes está regulada a través del “Reglamento de intercambios interuniversitarios”. A través de la Oficina de Relaciones Exteriores se gestionan programas de intercambio tanto nacionales (SICUE), como europeos (ERASMUS) y extracomunitarios (intercambios con países de América Latina o países de habla inglesa):
Internships
Las prácticas en empresa, de 15 créditos ECTS, constituyen uno de los pilares de la arquitectura docente del máster y cuenta con el aval de los clústeres empresariales de cada uno de los ámbitos desde su propia definición.
Las prácticas deben de facilitar a los alumnos los recursos y capacidades para que puedan desarrollar las destrezas precisas orientadas a la potencial valorización de activos digitales de base patrimonial a través de productos/servicios ad hoc. Y, así, los desarrollos generados en codirección con el tutor en la PYME constituyan una parte sustantiva del Trabajo Fin de Máster (TFM), indispensable para la evaluación final positiva.
El máster contempla un Trabajo Fin de Máster de 15 créditos ECTS. Se tendrá en consideración la capacidad para poner en práctica los contenidos teórico-instrumentales en un contexto sociolaboral determinado a través de un proyecto original de construcción, gestión y difusión del patrimonio cultural digital.
