After completing a year of the Master in renewable energy, climate change and sustainable development, the student will have sufficient knowledge on this subject to be able to carry out a work that integrates everything learned, covering aspects of renewable energy, sustainability and climate change. It will also coincide in time with the internships in companies, university departments or research centers, so the work may be related to the internships.
Preparation of a report on some advanced aspect of renewable energy and sustainability within the complex framework of climate change with a view to its subsequent public defense before a court appointed for this purpose.
The bibliography will depend on the work to be carried out and will be provided by the tutor or tutors, and if applicable, by the Companies or Institutions that collaborate in it.
BASIC AND GENERAL
CG01 - Acquire and understand the main theoretical, practical and methodological aspects necessary for professional dedication to the field of renewable energy, sustainability and climate change.
CG02 - Develop sufficient autonomy to start research and be able to join a research group or a company that carries out developments in the three areas of the Master.
CG03 - Ability to carry out studies of planning and design of energy solutions in the field of renewable energies and sustainability and climate change, either as planning models or for application to facilities.
CG09 - Use of the scientific bases applicable in the field of renewable energy, sustainability and energy efficiency to compare and select the most efficient and sustainable alternatives in different socio-economic contexts.
CG07 - Know the basic legislation at national and regional level related to the field of renewable energy, and be able to access the available bibliographic bases and have the capacity to interpret them.
CG06 - Know in depth the current technologies and tools in the field of renewable energy, sustainability and climate change.
CB7 - That students know how to apply the acquired knowledge and their ability to solve problems in new or little-known settings within broader (or multidisciplinary) contexts related to their area of study.
CB8 - That students are able to integrate knowledge and face the complexity of formulating judgments based on information that, being incomplete or limited, includes reflections on the social and ethical responsibilities linked to the application of their knowledge and judgments.
CB9 - That students know how to communicate their conclusions and the latest knowledge and reasons that support them to specialized and non-specialized audiences in a clear and unambiguous way.
TRANSVERSAL
CT06 - Be able to manage information and communication through the use of ICT.
CT07 - Treat, analyze and draw conclusions on a set of data resulting from a study using documentary sources.
CT08 - Ability to make responsible and correct decisions in complex and / or committed situations.
SPECIFIC
CE02 - Develop skills in the field of design, implementation, operation and maintenance in efficient, renewable and sustainable energy facilities, applying modeling, planning and optimization tools.
CE07 - Be able to identify and discriminate the current energy transition models and sustainably manage the selected model using the best available technologies.
CE08 - Evaluate the environmental impacts associated with energy projects, prepare plans to reduce GHG emissions and analyze their effects on climate change processes.
CE10 - Understand and establish methodologies for the diagnosis, management and sustainable energy planning through the valorization of own energy resources in different types of settlement and apply this type of procedure in simple cases.
CE12 - Use the concepts and sources of law (legal, doctrinal and jurisprudential) to protect the environment and interpret and apply international and internal legal standards to the regulation and promotion of renewable energy and sustainable development.
The Master's Final Project is a novel study that the student develops personally with the help of his / her tutor or tutors. In this Master the subject of the TFM can be the result of collaboration with Companies and Institutions, or proposed by the tutor or tutors as part of an investigation.
Due to these two lines of work, the TFM can be carried out by students in the facilities of the USC, at home and / or in the facilities of the Companies or Institutions that collaborate in the MERYCSE.
The TFM must defend itself in person before a court made up of Masters Professors and, if possible, belonging to 3 different areas of knowledge.
The defense and evaluation procedure is included in the Regulations for the preparation and defense of the Final Master's Project (TFM) of the Master in Renewable Energies, Climate Change and Sustainable Development (MERYCSE).
For cases of fraudulent performance of exercises or tests, the provisions of the "Regulations for the evaluation of the academic performance of students and the review of grades" will apply.
Article 16. Fraudulent performance of exercises or tests.
The fraudulent performance of any exercise or test required in the evaluation of a subject will imply the qualification of failure in the corresponding call, regardless of the disciplinary process that may be followed against the offending student. It is considered fraudulent, among others, the realization of plagiarized works or obtained from sources accessible to the public without re-elaboration or reinterpretation and without citations to the authors and the sources.
In general, different tests may be carried out to verify obtaining theoretical / practical knowledge and acquisition of skills and attitudes.
