Value Creation, Knowledge Transfer and Entrepreneurship Area

The Value Creation, Knowledge Transfer and Entrepreneurship Area is responsible for comprehensive management of the knowledge transfer process for research results, and for publicising and promoting the entrepreneurial culture among members of the university community.

Pemade

It performs the following functions:

  • Identifying and recording research results suitable for knowledge transfer.
  • Supporting the commercial potential and societal usefulness of the research results.
  • Protecting the research results and their management via patents and other forms of protection.
  • Proposing and advancing value creation and development processes for the research results.
  • Negotiating, managing, and monitoring the knowledge transfer contracts for research results.
  • Providing support and advising for creation of enterprises based on research results (spin-offs).
  • Promoting and publicising knowledge transfer and entrepreneurship among members of the university community.
  • Providing training related to the knowledge transfer process and entrepreneurship.

 

 

 

Programmes

Knowledge transfer accelerator

Intended participants: research groups.

Programme objective: Development of research results to facilitate their transfer to the social and economic environments.
 

ARGOS Programme

Intended participants: students in their final years of a bachelor’s, master’s, post-graduate, or doctoral degree programme, and personnel from the research groups.

Programme objective: by working as a team and learning by doing, the participants are guided through the process of defining a business idea and assessing their own ability to create a convincing project.
 

Explorer
Intended participants: those between 18 and 31 years of age.

Programme objective: to provide support, training, and advising during a five-month period, to produce business plans based on technological ideas.

Competition for Innovative Business Ideas and Projects
Intended participants: students, post-graduate students, and researchers.
Competition objective: to encourage creation of innovative enterprises, business innovation, and job generation.
In parallel, the office maintains collaborations with external business-related entities and organisations, such as the School of Industrial Organisation (EOI), Bankinter Foundation, Galicia Open Future by Telefónica, and RedEmprendia.
