International Symposium on the Doctorate in Education

On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Studies on Pedagogy at the University of Santiago de Compostela (USC), the Faculty of Educational Sciences, together with the Department of Pedagogy and Didactics and the Institute of Educational Sciences (IES), is organising the International Symposium on the Doctorate in Education. Knowledge and Transformative Action (15-16 May 2024).

The symposium is a great opportunity for reflection and a meeting point for researchers in the field of education. Among other things, we want to analyse the situation and perspectives of the Doctorate in Education in the context of a knowledge society. In addition, the aim is to discuss the relevance and quality of doctoral programmes, to study their different modalities, and to create and/or strengthen spaces for debate and participation of doctoral students in Education.

Finally, as the Organising Comitte we would like to thank the help of the Scientific Committee, the support of the institutions for the event and the impulse received from the different research groups constituted in the Faculty of Education of the University of Santiago de Compostela.
