Gender equality

USC's social commitment to the principle of gender equality made it one of the pioneering universities in the creation of the Office for Gender Equality (OIX) in 2006. The Office for Gender Equality is the unit in charge of boosting equality policies through the coordination of the execution and evaluation of the Strategic Plan for Equal Opportunities between Men and Women of the USC.

  • USC Policies

    • To involve the university community with gender mainstreaming.

    • To commemorate the dates enshrined in the feminist agenda.

    • To promote the use of non-sexist language.


  • Training and awareness. To develop awareness campaigns and education programmes on equality, feminism and the prevention of the various forms of gender-based violence.


  • Teaching and research. To boost the incorporation of the gender perspective in teaching and research. 


  • Presence, promotion and representation. To promote the presence and balanced participation in the degrees and governance bodies

  • Conciliation and co-responsibility. To promote co-responsibility and enforce the right to conciliation.


  • Harassment and sexist attitudes. Monitoring the application of the USC Protocol for prevention and action against sexual harassment and harassment based on gender, sexual orientation and gender identity
