- To know the human nervous system and to deepen the knowledge of neuroanatomy at a macroscopic and microscopic level.
- To handle neuroanatomical terminology with precision.

- To know the current concepts and the fundamentals of the techniques used in this field.
A) Expository classes (27h)
1. Relationship life nervous system and autonomic nervous system. Central nervous system and peripheral nervous system.
2. Peripheral nervous system. Recent aspects related to the classification of peripheral nerves and the structure and distribution of spinal nerves.
3. Current knowledge on the organization of the vegetative nervous system.
4. External configuration of the CNS: spinal cord, medulla oblongata, pons and midbrain.
5. External configuration of the CNS: Cerebellum. Cerebrum: Telencephalon, diencephalon, and diencephalic ventricle.
6. Outer configuration of the hemispheres. Interhemispheric formations. Basal ganglia. Telencephalic ventricles.
7. Update on meninges and cerebrospinal fluid. Blood-brain barrier.
8. Spinal cord: Neuroanatomical fundamentals and advanced aspects of spinal cord neuroanatomy.

B.1. Seminars (2h)
Seminars will be held, mainly on macroscopic aspects of the nervous system. These classes complete the training received in the expository classes and contribute to the development of skills that will help students to manage better in practical classes.
B.2. Laboratory classes (10h)
Practice 1. Observation and identification of neuroanatomical structures of the spinal cord and brainstem using real models and cadaverous material.
Practice 2. Observation and identification of neuroanatomical structures in the cerebellum and diencephalon using real models and cadaverous material.
Practice 3. Observation and identification of neuroanatomical structures in the telencephalon using real models and cadaverous material. Basal ganglia and lateral ventricles.

Expository classes will be given through master classes, using audiovisual media and the blackboard. Student participation will be encouraged. Seminars will be held to complement the teaching. Laboratory classes will be carried out in the Sala de Técnica Anatómica of the Faculty of Medicine. Anatomical models and preparations obtained from cadavers will be used. In the practical classes, autonomous learning will be promoted, and the students will work individually and in teams, guided by the teaching staff. Class notes and the atlas will be essential as support material. In the laboratory practices the use of white coat and gloves will be mandatory. Individualized tutorials will be carried out for learning orientation and doubt resolution and a public tutorial forum will be set up in the virtual classroom of the subject.
Adaptations of the teaching methodology to the Scenario 1 (adapted normality; no restrictions on physical presence): Teaching of the expository and interactive classes will be face-to-face. In the expository classes the videoconference will be used for the interuniversity connection. To carry out specific activities remotely, institutional tools and platforms will be used (Virtual Classroom-Moodle and Microsoft Teams).
In order to be assessed, it is necessary to attend the lectures and interactive classes. The knowledge acquired in the lectures will be assessed by means of a final test. The pass mark will be 60%. This test will represent up to 70% of the maximum overall mark. A practical test will be carried out on the contents worked on in the interactive classes, which will also serve to assess the skills and abilities acquired in them. The pass mark will be 70%. Attendance at practical classes is compulsory and it will be necessary to pass this exam in order to pass the subject. There will also be a continuous assessment in which the student's attitude, class attendance, practical knowledge and the performance and content of the activities programmed during the course will be assessed. The continuous assessment will account for up to 30% of the overall grade.
Adaptations of the evaluation system to the Scenario 1 (adapted normality; no restrictions on physical presence): The final tests (theoretical and practical) will be held in person. The resources of the institutional platforms (Virtual Classroom-Moodle and Microsoft Teams) may be used for the continuous evaluation.
In the case of fraudulent exercises or tests, the provisions of the Regulations for the Evaluation of Students' Academic Performance and the Revision of Grades (Resolution of 15 June 2011, DOG of 21 July 2011) will apply.

It is recommended to carry out an active learning of knowledge, using organized schemes and making links between one's own knowledge and new ones. In addition, participation in classes, periodic study and the use of tutorial hours are recommended. Books and atlases are essential guides for the acquisition of practical skills and abilities of the subject and the understanding of theoretical concepts. It is important that the student acquires awareness of the importance of understanding the concepts and the methods and techniques described, to develop skills for their application to practical problems in their future professional life.

The tutorials will be of a face-to-face and/or telematic nature and the bibliographic resources may be used in paper and/or digital.

The contents will be the same in all three scenarios, although they may be reorganized, especially in scenario 3 (closure of the facilities), to adapt them to completely remote teaching.
Adaptations of the teaching methodology:
Scenario 2 (distancing; partial restrictions on physical attendance): Face-to-face and remote teaching may be combined to apply the social distancing measures in force at that time. Tutorials will preferably be virtual. For remote teaching, institutional tools and platforms will be used (Virtual Classroom-Moodle and Microsoft Teams).
Scenario 3 (closure of the facilities): Teaching will be exclusively virtual, using institutional tools and platforms (Virtual Classroom-Moodle and Microsoft Teams).
Adaptations of the evaluation system:
Scenario 2 (distancing; partial restrictions to physical attendance): The final tests (theoretical and practical) will be of a face-to-face nature. The resources of the institutional platforms (Virtual Classroom-Moodle and Microsoft Teams) may be used for the continuous assessment.
Scenario 3 (closure of the facilities): The final tests (theoretical and practical) will be carried out using resources that guarantee the identification of the student, as well as the personal nature of the test. If the technical means to guarantee the fulfilment of these premises are not available, an oral final test will be used. The continuous evaluation will be carried out through the registration of participation and the carrying out of activities remotely using the institutional tools and platforms (Virtual Classroom-Moodle and Microsoft Teams).
