The main aim of the course is to explain the characteristics and the causes of the economic and social transformations experienced in the world from the Industrial Revolution until the actuality. It looks for that the students:
• It comprise the basic concepts of the economy and his application to different historical contexts.
• It appreciate the paper exerted by the economic factors and the institutional factors in the processes of economic development.
• It know the distinct modalities of company arisen in the recent historical evolution, and the factors that conditioned his forms of growth.
• It familiarise with technicians and basic statistical instruments employees in the treatment of the historical economic series (numbers index, taxes of growth, nominal and real variables, etc.)

BASIC:
CB1 - That the students show to possess and comprise knowledges in an area of study that splits of the base of the secondary education general, and is used to find to a level that, although it supports in books of text advanced, includes also some appearances that involve pertinent knowledges of the avant-garde of his field of study.
CB2 - That the students know to apply the knowledges purchased to his work or vocation of a professional form and possess the competitions that are used to to show by means of the preparation and defence of arguments and the resolution of problems inside his area of study.
CB3 - That the students have the capacity to gather and interpret notable data (usually inside his area of study) to issue trials that include a reflection on notable subjects of social type, scientific or ethical.
CB4 - That the students can transmit information, ideas, problems and solutions to a so much specialised public as no skilled.
CB5 - That the students develop those skills of necessary learning to undertake back studies with a high degree of autonomy.
GENERALS:
CG2 - Know elaborate and defend arguments on economic questions to a general level, as well as resolve problems on these questions, doing use of his knowledges on the business reality, the theories, the models and the own scientific methods.
CG3 - Know identify, gather and interpret notable data on questions related with the business field, incorporating in the preparation of trials and proposals the pertinent considerations on his social dimension, scientific or ethical.

The sessions of classroom devoted to the lectures will use to enter the basic contents of the subjects that comprise the program of the matter, emphasizing more relevant topics and the existent relations between them.
The interactive sessions in reduced group will be devoted to present and debate the results of the works made by the students on subjects previously selected by the professor, as are text commentary, or interpretative analysis on materials and data of historical character chosen by the professors. The activities of personal work of the students include, in addition to the time devoted to the study, the realisation of the activities selected by the professors.
Tutoring will be exclusively face-to-face
The qualification of students will be carried out following a continuous evaluation process. The evaluation system will take into account all the activities carried out by students as: active participation in the activities proposed (text commentary, interpretive analysis on historical materials and data chosen by teachers, guided exercises, tasks or questionnaires, presentation and presentation of papers, conduct of the content examination, etc.) and shall be based on regular monitoring of the evolution of the learning and skills acquisition process. Students who don´t follow the continuous assessment system will be evaluated by taking a final examination. The continuous evaluation will include:
The participation in the class, the practices, works and proofs made to the long of the cuatrimestre (50% of the final qualification)
b) One/ some global proof of knowledges made at the end of the course (50% of the final qualification). It is necessary to pass these proof to pass the course c) Completion of the Library competency course will be counted with 0,5 points. Class attendance is mandatory.

So much the students that had not followed the continuous evaluation like that that have conceded dispenses of assistance to class will have to make a final examination of the program of the matter prepared from the basic bibliography. This examination will suppose 100% of his qualification. The conditions of evaluation are exactly the same in the distinct opportunities (January and June/July).
Likewise, once finalised the academic course, the students that do not surpass the matter will have to follow the norms that establish in the programming of the following course. Therefore, it will not conserve for back courses to qualification of any part of the matter.
To pass, for any of the options, is necessary a score of 5 points or more on a scale of 10.
In accordance with the Permanence Regulations in force at the USC for Bachelor and Master studies (art. 5.2), mere attendance and/or participation in any of the activities subject to evaluation will mean that the final grade of the student is different from NOT PRESENTED.
The tests will be carried out at the date and time established by the Faculty. For the tests it is mandatory to present an official identification document: identity card, university card, passport, etc.
Other nuances on these basic criteria will be provided throughout the course.
For the cases of fraudulent performance of exercises or tests will be applicable the provisions of the “Normativa de avaliación do rendemento académico dos estudantes e de revisión de cualificacións”.
The total of the in-site student’s work at class will be of 51 hours and the estimated hours for his/her personal work (autonomous study, exercises, readings, etc) will be 99.
In spite of the fact that this subject do not require previous skills, it is recommended a basic I: T: knowledge at a user-level I: T (word processor, spreadsheet, the internet browser…)

El alumnado del Grado en Gestión de PYMES, por estar extinguida la docencia de 3º curso, tendrá como único sistema de evaluación un exame final que representará el 100% de la calificación.
