To acquaint the pupil with the characteristics of the Hellenic civilization, with his peculiar vision of the world and with his artistic achievements, emphasizing in the need to know the cultural background indispensable Greek to understand his artistic production.
TOPIC I. - INTRODUCTION. - The Greek art and the beginning of the western civilization.
TOPIC II. - ARCHITECTURE. The Greek conception of the architecture. The system adintelado and the architectural orders: the Doric one and the Ionic one and the peculiarity of the Corinthian. - The templo. - The culture of the rectilinear thing and the paper of the color. - The origins and the first templos. - The archaic epoch. From the wood to the stone. The Doric one and the Ionic. - The classic epoch. Architecture and architects. Of Zeus's temple in Olimpia to the Acropolis of Athens in the epoch of Pericles. The birth of the Corinthian and the new tipologies. - The helenistic period. Expansion and seduction of the Greek architecture. Of Pérgamo to the Olimpeion of Athens. - Sanctuaries and cities. Gods and men.
TOPIC III. - THE FIGURATIVE ARTS. SCULPTURE. The archaic period. Realism and idealism. The kuros and the Kore. The frontons: topics and composition. - The classic period. Sculptures and sculptors of the centuries V and the IV.th B.C. Of Miron to Lisipo. - The Hellenism. Centers, workshops, kinds and obras. - PAINTING. The archaic period and the ceramic painting. From the technology of black figures to that of red figures. - The classic period and the big teachers. The golden age of the Greek painting. - The helenistic period.
Although the teacher's explanation will always be a priority, as a support book, students will have, in addition to the accompanying bibliography, the following reference manual:

The pupil will be capable of:
1. To date back and to classify the works of Greek art.
2. Contextualizar his different artistic manifestations
3. To value the debt of West with the classic art.
4. To develop a critical and analytical spirit that allows him to value the work in yes same and as document of a civilization.
The teacher in the exhibition classes will approach the themes from a multidisciplinary perspective that allows the study of the work of art as a whole, emphasizing the morphological and content aspects of Romanesque art.
The interactive classes will focus on the analysis and commentary of different works related to the subject. In this case, each student, individually, will have to prepare, exhibit and publicly defend one or more previously selected works. You will also have the obligation to ask a series of questions in relation to the topics that have been exposed.
The field practices will take place preferably in the classroom and will have a preferential influence on issues already seen in the expository or interactive classes.
The VIRTUAL CAMPUS resource will be used as a teaching tool, both to inform students about issues of interest and to provide material of special importance.
The evaluation will depend on a written test, participation in interactive classes and compulsory personal work.
The written test will represent 70% of the final grade. Participation in interactive classes and assignments will account for 30% of the final grade. The pass will be reached once 50% of each of the parts has been exceeded.
Since the evaluation is continuous, attendance at the classrooms is compulsory, so a repeated absence of more than 20% of the classrooms will make it impossible for the student to be evaluated.
The participation of the students in the interactive classes that are contemplated like exhibition of a personal work is obligatory and, therefore, essential to obtain the final qualification.
Option of July:
1.-In the tests of the second opportunity the pupils who have expired with everything obligatory in the practical classes and personal works will remain the same qualifications and only they will have to examine of the matter given in the explanatory classes.
2.-Those pupils who had not realized the practical obligatory activities will have to realize an examination in the one that will enter so much the matter exposed in the explanatory classes as in the interactive classes. The latter matter will be available in the Virtual Classroom of the subject.
3.- Following the Instruction Nº 1/2017 of Secretaría Xeral, students who are exempt from attendance in certain situations will be evaluated with a specific final exam (100%). Exemption from attendance must be authorized in advance by the university.
4.- For the cases of fraudulent realization of exercises or proofs will be of application the collected in the Norm of evaluation of the academic performance of the students and of revision of qualifications.
-Between 45-60 Minutes per Theoretical Hour of Class.
-3 Hours of Preparation per each Practice Class.
-15 Hours to write the personal paper.
- The Obligation of the Students, from the third Week, is to keep the Subject giving by the Teacher up to date in the Theoretical Expositions and those parts, that are Object to Discuss in the Practices, on the contrary, it is annulled the Operability of them and
without forgetting that the Correct Visual Learning requires a Continuum Effort.
-To solicit to the Teacher, in any Moment, the Explanations that the Student considers necessaries in relation with those Aspects that along the Theoretical Exposition or in the Practices Classes did not enough explained, so the Students must not abandon the Class without having the Theme of the Exposition and /or Discussion perfectly clarified.
-To make use of the Tutorials to solve any Problem that appears in relation with the Subject.
Everything indicated in the previous sections is intended for a classroom teaching situation in which there are no alterations for reasons of COVID 19. However, in the face of a change of scenery, teaching will have to be blended or non-classroom-based, so it will be necessary for the students take into account what is indicated here.
SEMIPRESENTIAL SCENARIO (Plan of contingency distancing scenario). Nothing changes in relation to Objectives, Contents, Bibliography, Competences, Assessment System, Study Time and Personal Work. Regarding Teaching Methodology, a synchronous expository teaching will be chosen preferably through teams, although asynchronous teaching may be used, in some cases, if appropriate. The Virtual Campus tool will also be used as a complement. Interactive classes will take place in class. Field practices will also be in the classroom.
NON-PRESENTIAL SCENARIO (Closure scenario contingency plan): Nothing changes regarding Objectives, Contents, Bibliography, Competences, Assessment System, Study Time and Personal Work. Regarding Teaching Methodology, a synchronous expository teaching will be chosen preferably through teams, although asynchronous teaching may be used, in some cases, if appropriate. The Virtual Campus tool will also be used as a complement. The interactive classes will take place through teams, as will the field practices.
