The expositive lessons and interactive seminars will be taught by lecturers from the areas of medicine, pediatrics and dermatology. They may be carried out in person, telematically or both. The clinical practices, with some exceptions, will take place in hospitals and community health centers.
The knowledge acquired by the student in classes, seminars, papers, academic presentations, recommended readings and clinical practices will be evaluated continuously with a weight in the final grade of 30% and through a final test type test.
It is considered that to acquire and establish the necessary knowledge required of the subject through classes, readings, bibliographic consultations and academic work, it requires a personal work and dedication of between 5-8 hours per week.
The student should be aware that although its scope is limited to future dental plan, their studies are framed within the health sciences and, therefore, his duty will be shared with other professionals to ensure comprehensive health their patients and the community.
Based on the agreement of the Government Council of June 19, 2020, which regulates the bases for the development of safe face-to-face teaching in the Academic year 2020-2021, it is recommended to introduce some modifications in the teaching strategies and in the communication channels between teachers and students that minimize the possible impact that a new outbreak of COVID-19 may have.
In prevision of the possible scenarios, the following provisions are established in the teaching methodology and in the evaluation system:
Scenario 1
The course will be developed according to the programe above, with the necessary sanitary measures for individual and collective protection. Classes, seminars and practices will be mostly face-to-face, tutorials and other types of communication between teachers and students will preferably take place online.
The knowledg evaluation of the subject will be continuous and with a face-to-face final test, with a weight in the final grade of 30% and 70% respectively.
Scenerio 2
If the healthcare authorities forced to a more stricted action about protection measures, mobility and social distancing, teaching activities will preferably be carried out online. Presential activities will be exceptional and only in small groups.
The evaluation of the subject will be continuous and with a final test that may be face-to-face or telematic, depending on the circumstances and resources, with a weight in the final grade of 50% for each of them.
Scenario 3
If the general health situation might require the all face-to-face activities to be interrupted, as a consequence of a new confinement, the classes, seminars and presential practices will take place on the virtual campus, intended to make the best use of it, with online activities and maintaining continuous and fluid communication among teachers and students.
The evaluation of the subject will be continuous and with a final telematic test with a weight in the final grade of 50% for each of them.
