Matter Psychiatric Clinic located in the last year of the Degree of Medicine, so already acquired basic theoretical knowledge for learning this discipline.

1.MAKE CONTACT with the reality of psychiatric disorders in clinical practice through direct contact with patients.
2. CONTRIBUTE to the elimination of stigma attached to mental illness.
3. USE the basic psychiatric language and the elementary techniques of psychiatric examination.
4.IDENTIFY the different psychiatric disorders, their clinical characteristics, evolution prognosis and treatment.
5. TO DEEPEN the knowledge of those psychiatric disorders that occur more frequently in somatic patients (outpatient or admitted).
6. ANALYZE psychiatric information received in an emergency sufficiently to give an adequate response to it
TO KNOW the different devices Mental Health care (inpatient and outpatient) and characteristics of the work in multidisciplinary teams that respond to demand psychiatric (medical and psychosocial) which sets the psychiatric intervention in the community

Upon completion of the study of the subject the student / a must be able to
1.To perform a full psychiatric history
2. To make a psychopathological scan to patient
3. To indicate both medical and psychological diagnosis needed to perform additional examinations.
4. To raise the diagnostic hypothesis derived from history
5. To resolve differential diagnoses derived from clinical history and diagnostic hypothesis.
6. To propose alternative treatments.
7. To evaluate the demand of Psychiatric Emergency.
Joining daily activities that take place in the mental health resources in which the student is incorporated.

Continuous assessment of the student's knowledge and skills by the responsible tutor.
The tutor will qualify the student as apto (6.0) or not apto, being able to be apto to pass and take the exam to be performed at the end of the rotations by the different services, which will consist of a battery of quiz questions with 5 answers of which only one will be valid, the wrong replies will subtract score: 1 for every three errors).
The evaluation of the tutor as not APTO will imply that the student cannot pass the matery at that time and will be accompanied by a numerical note from 0 to 4.9 to include in the minutes.
The examination will be voluntary and indispensable to obtain a grade greater than 6 with the following criteria:
0 to 30% of the correct answers (discount negatives): It does not add anything to the final note.
30 to 100% of the correct answers (discounting negatives): proportionally the number of hits.
The final grade will be the result of adding the grade of the tutor (6:00) to that of the exam that will account for 40% of the final grade.
Honor plates are distributed among the students who obtain the highest final grades. In case that several students can opt for them, an extraordinary enrollment examination will be carried out among all the candidates
Each student makes a stay of 3 consecutive weeks in a unit area of psychiatry at a hospital or other centers, carrying out at least three guards (126 contact hours and 12 hours of personal study). A week of practice represents a presentiality of 35 hours (8:00 am to 15.00 pm Monday to Friday) to which must be added 7 hours for each call made (from 15.00 to 22.00 hours)
Recover theoretical knowledge of Medical Psychology, Psychiatry and General optional subjects in the area of psychiatry.
After participating in the care of a patient should seek guidance from their mentor for theoretical case review and elaborate as at least one of the clinical cases known to present it with theoretical argument and bibliography.
PLAN DE CONTINGENCIA
La competencia para autorizar el acceso de los estudiantes a los centros sanitarios es de la autoridad sanitaria (Consejería de Sanidad, SERGAS), por lo que dicho acceso queda supeditado a dicha autorización. Esta autorización siempre se dio por supuesta y nunca supuso una limitación para la realización de las prácticas clínicas, pero en un contexto de pandemia no podemos descartar dificultades de acceso, como así ocurrió en el segundo semestre del curso 2019-20.
La práctica clínica es insustituible. Cualquier medida que podamos tomar será un intento de “salvar” un proceso docente en una situación nunca antes vivida en el pasado reciente. Es esta situación excepcional la que obliga a tomar decisiones excepcionales para salvaguardar la salud de la población de la manera lo mas eficaz posible.
En cualquier caso la superación de la materia requerirá de uno mínimo del 50% de las horas de prácticas previstas, no pudiendo descartarse la extensión del horario y del calendario de prácticas para poder completar la actividad formativa, sin perjuicio de la normativa general que la USC establezca.
Escenario 2: Distanciamento
En el Escenario 2 la autoridad sanitaria podría limitar la realización de la práctica clínica en los hospitales o decretar incluso la suspensión de la misma.
En este contexto si la situación lo exigiera, podría reducirse la presencialidad incluso el 50%, acudiendo al hospital en subgrupos en días o semanas alternas u otras opciones de acuerdo a las indicaciones de la autoridad sanitaria. La simulación Básica y Avanzada y actividades no presenciales cómo elaboración de trabajos, resolución de casos y otros constituyen herramientas útiles en este escenario. Para eso, se emplearán todas las herramientas docentes disponibles (cómo Aula Virtual-Moodle y Microsoft Teams…).
En este contexto no se puede descartar la extensión del horario y del calendario de prácticas para poder completar la actividad formativa, sin perjuicio de la normativa general que la USC establezca.
Escenario 3: cierre de las instalaciones.
En el Escenario 3 la autoridad sanitaria podría decretar la suspensión de la práctica clínica. En este contexto podría reducirse la presencialidad incluso el 50%. La simulación Básica y Avanzada y actividades no presenciales como la elaboración de trabajos, resolución de casos y otros constituyen herramientas disponibles. Para eso, se emplearán todas las herramientas y plataformas disponibles (cómo Aula Virtual-Moodle y Microsoft Teams…).
En este contexto no se descarta la extensión del horario y del calendario de prácticas para poder completar la actividad formativa, sin perjuicio de la normativa general que la USC establezca.
Evaluación:
Escenarios 1 y 2. Las pruebas finales tendrán carácter presencial en el escenario 1, y siempre que sea posible en el escenario 2.
Escenario 3. Las pruebas finales se llevarán a cabo empleando recursos telemáticos de la manera que disponga el coordinador de la materia en función de la situación. En caso de que se considerara necesario, se podría realizar una prueba final oral en casos concretos de alumnos con dificultades técnicas.
