To know the fundamentals of the physical agents used in Radiology and Physical Medicine.
To know the structure and functions of the human body, from the radiological anatomo-functional point of view, in such a way that they constitute the base of the knowledge of imaging diagnosis applicable to all branches of medicine.
To know the fundamentals of the elemental pathological images observable with the different methods of imaging diagnosis.
To know the possibilities, limitations and main indications of the therapeutic methods used by Radiology and Physical Medicine.
To know with precision the basic terminology of Radiology and Physical Medicine.
To know the current trends in Radiology and Physical Medicine.

Competence
Students will be able to identify, differentiate and discern each one of the elements of the different structures of the human body observable in documents of imaging diagnosis.
Students will be able to analyze if there exist alterations in the form, structure or relations of those elements which make us think in the existence of pathology.
Students will be able to understand the therapeutic methods of Radiology and Physical Medicine.
Teaching methodology
The teaching of the subject takes place in the first term of the course:
Three hours of theory per week. Many of the classes with projection of radiological images.
Clinical practices rotating by the sections of the Radiodiagnostics and Radiotherapy Services of the Clinical Hospital.
Three thematic blocks. First, physical bases of the different methods of Imaging diagnosis; second, general semiology of imaging diagnosis; third, radiobiology.
Assessment system
(Theoretical-practical) final exam.
Study time and individual work
Hours of theoretical-practical class: Three per week in the Faculty.
Hospital practices: Monday and Wednesday in the mornings in the Radiodiagnostics Service.
Practice time in the computer devoted to the study of the CD of radiological images edited by the teachers of the area.
Time devoted to the study of books.
Recommendations for the study of the subject
Students must attend theoretical and practical classes.
Students must devote study time to the recommended books.
Students must devote study time to the CD edited and available to students by the teachers of the area.
Students must devote study time to the following web site:
