The sessions dedicated to the theoretical classes will aim to introduce the students to the contents of the topics that make up the program, emphasizing the especially relevant aspects and the relationships between them.
Depending on the scenario determined by the evolution of health conditions, the sessions will be conducted as follows:
• Scenario 1: classroom-presential (synchronous).
• Scenario 2: classroom-presential or virtual (synchronous/asynchronous) depending on the guidelines established by the dean's office of each center or the rector's office for this scenario and the health measures established at that time.
• Scenario 3: virtual (synchronous / asynchronous) through institutional platforms (MsTeams and virtual campus).
The interactive sessions will be based on the practical application of the theoretical contents exposed in the exhibition sessions. These sessions will be aimed at the resolution and discussion of cases and practical exercises to improve students' ability to recognize and define the problems faced by companies, and to be able to make the most appropriate decisions.
Depending on the scenario determined by the evolution of health conditions, the sessions will be conducted as follows:
• Scenario 1: classroom-presential (synchronous).
• Scenario 2: classroom-presential or virtual (synchronous / asynchronous) depending on the guidelines established by the dean's office of each center or the rector's office for this scenario and the health measures that are established at that time.
• Scenario 3: virtual (synchronous / asynchronous) through institutional platforms (MsTeams and virtual campus).
The theoretical and interactive sessions will take place in the official schedule published by the center.
For the asynchronous activities and for the delivery of tasks, a mailbox will be set up in the virtual campus with the deadline for delivery.
The teaching staff of each group will monitor the attendance of the students and their participation in the sessions, either in person or virtually (remotely).
The participation in the theoretical and interactive sessions will be complemented by the students' personal work which includes, among others, activities to search for information and bibliographic material, reading of this material and preparation and defense of individual or collaborative works.
This autonomous work will be guided by the teaching staff during the hours devoted to tutorials, which will serve to solve doubts and problems faced by students in the teaching-learning process. The tutorials will also serve as a feedback channel on the results obtained. Depending on the scenario determined by the evolution of health conditions, the tutorials will be carried out as follows:
• -Scenario 1: presential or virtual.
• -Scenario 2 and 3: virtual, combining synchronous tutoring (individual or group through the MsTeams platform) with asynchronous tutoring (virtual campus or email).
Tutorials will take place in the usual schedule officially published by the teaching staff.
The development of the course will be carried out with the support of the teaching virtual classroom created for this purpose in the Moodle platform and that will be operative in any of the foreseen scenarios.
The assessment will take into account all the activities developed by the students (carrying out and active participation in the analysis of cases, debate and commentary on readings, articles or news in the press, carrying out and exposing work, carrying out questionnaires on theoretical or practical content, etc.).
In the case of fraudulent exercises or exam, the provisions of the Regulations on the Evaluation of Students' Academic Performance and the Revision of Qualifications will apply.
There are two opportunities to pass the course. Students who do not pass the course on the first occasion will have the right to a second opportunity, which will be the one that appears on their academic record if the grade obtained is higher.
The assessment system for these two opportunities, both for first-year students and for repeaters, is set out below:
First ordinary opportunity. Continuous evaluation, combined with a final exam, is contemplated.
1. Continuous evaluation: resolution and participation in the analysis of cases, reading discussion, realization and presentation of works, questionnaires and other activities linked to the expository and interactive sessions, as well as the attitude and behavior in the classes. Weight in the final grade: 50%.
The relationship of the different activities that can be evaluated throughout the course, their weighting and follow-up will be indicated in the teaching guide of the course that will be published in the virtual classroom at the beginning of the course.
In this part the following competences will be assessed: CB2, CB3, CB4, CG4, A5, D4, D11, CT3, CT8, CT10.
2. Final exam of contents: compulsory exam in which the results of the learning will be evaluated, and it can include short answer questions, test type questions, short reasoning questions, or cases (real or invented) to which the students must give a solution, based on the theoretical contents of the course and/or on the skills/competences developed during the four-month period. Weight in the final grade: 50%.
In this part the following competences will be assessed: CB1, CB5, CG5, A5.
Depending on the scenario determined by the evolution of health conditions, the final contents’ exam will be as follows:
• Scenario 1: final exam in person.
• Scenario 2: final exam in person or by telematics, depending on the guidelines established by the deanery of each center or the rector's office for this scenario and the health measures established at that time.
• Scenario 3: final telematic exam.
In order to add the score achieved in the continuous assessment to the score of the contents’ exam, the students must achieve a minimum score of 2 out of 5 in the final contents’ exam. The added mark must be equal to or higher than 5 points out of 10 to pass the course.
Second extraordinary recovery opportunity
At the second extraordinary recovery opportunity, the same assessment system will be applied as at the first opportunity. That is, a new final exam will be taken with the weighting established for the first opportunity, which will be added to the score achieved in the continuous assessment. Students who do not obtain any score related to the activities carried out in the exhibition and interactive sessions will only be able to obtain a maximum of 5 points in this call.
In accordance with the Permanence Regulations in force at the USC for Degree and Master studies (art. 5.2), mere attendance and/or participation in any of the activities course to evaluation will mean that the student's final mark will be different from not attended.
Students who have been granted exemption from attendance in accordance with Instruction No. 1/2017 of Secretaría Xeral on exemption from class attendance in certain circumstances will be assessed with a specific final exam that will count for 100% of the grade. This exam will be either in person or remotely (virtual) depending on the scenario determined by the evolution of health conditions.
The course is 4.5 ETCS and each credit is equivalent to 25 hours.
The total working hours are distributed as follows:
Hours of theoretical and interactive class, tutorials and evaluation in the modality that is determined: 45.
Students personal work: 67.5.
In order to maximize learning, it is recommended that students regularly attend the expository and interactive sessions (in person or remotely, depending on the scenario determined by the evolution of health conditions), actively participate in all the activities proposed by the teaching staff and consult the bibliography and other recommended material.
Tutorials are a useful resource that students should use as often as necessary. Access to the virtual campus to learn about different issues that arise during the course and to be able to have and review the complementary material before classes, facilitates student participation and their ability to acquire knowledge.
Contingency plan:
As stated in the programming of the course, the teaching methodology will be modified in accordance with the scenarios determined by the evolution of health conditions.
.- In scenario 1 (adapted normality), teaching will be classroom presential (face-to-face).
.- In scenario 2 (social distancing), the exhibition/interactive sessions will be carried out according to the guidelines established by the deanery of each center or the rector's office for that scenario and the health measures that are established at that time.
.- In scenario 3, all sessions will be virtual (combining synchronous and asynchronous activities).
With respect to the assessment system, in scenario 1 the final exam will be classroom presential, in scenario 2 it will be presential or telematic depending on the guidelines established by the deanery of each center or the rectorate for this scenario and the health measures in force at that time, and in scenario 3 the final exam will be telematic.
