- Study of the legislative framework on freedom of information and opinion, particularly those affecting the profession.
- Encouraging and promoting the student to argue from a legal perspective.

- Analysis of the distribution of power and the mechanisms of formation of public opinion, its limits and its relationship to political communication.

It is the responsibility of the student to get the necessary bibliography at the beginning of the course, without prejudice to the online access that can be provided to certain materials via BUSC.

In the lectures the student will be introduced to the basics of the subject.
Moreover, in the interactive lessons the student will contrast the theory and practice of media. Other legal issues, which the journalists face in their daily practice in any media or where they develop their professional activity, will also be discussed.
If required, tutorial sessions will ensure individual attention to the student, preferably via Teams.
Finally, the virtual classroom will be used as a tool to solve practical cases about right to information.

The final grade will be the result of the sum of the partial scores according to the following scheme:
- Attendance and participation in lectures and interactive sessions: 10%
- Tasks undertaken throughout the year: 20%
- Written exam (test): 60%
Taking into account the relevant regulation of the USC for university degree and master´s degree (art. 5.2), attendance and participation in any of the three aforementioned activities will be evaluated. Hence, the student´s final grade will not be NO PRESENTADO.
In case of exemption from attendance, the student´s final grade will be the result of the multiple-choice exam, which will be evaluated on 10 points.

Study time and individual work which must be added:
- 2 hours per week to reinforce knowledge acquired in practical activities
- 15 hours of final exam review
- It is recommended that from the beginning of the semester the students obtain the basic and additional bibliography.
- Attendance to the activities is the most suitable method for the comprehension of the course.
- Study time should be as continued as possible, making a weekly update of the subject.
- Under no circumstances any content should be memorize if it is not previously understood. The solution of practical cases highlight if the subject is or not understood.

Methodology
Scenario 2
The course will combine in-class and online teaching via Teams, according to the mechanisms arbitrated by the center.
