Provide the student with the vision necessary to analyze events and processes related to the fires that take place on the territory, to evaluate and analyze each event in their geographical location.
Application of new technologies for spatial information (remote sensing and Geographic Information Systems) to the production and analysis of information relating to forest fires for the environmental assessment and management at various scales, both local and regional and global.
The memory contents of the title provides for the following contents:
Fundamentals ofremote sensing
Corrections and treatments of the digital image
extraction and analysis of information

will work the following specific competences:
EC39 Know the basic theoretical foundations of the process of remote sensing and processing techniques, analysis and interpretation of satellite images
EC40 capability to carry out mapping, obtaining information from satellite images in those aspects related to forest fires
EC41 Knowledge of thematic layers necessary for the management in the restoration of burned areas and fire simulators
The knowledge and skills will be obtained across:
- Explanatory Classes (8 hours) that will be given fundamentally by means of oral presentation with power point. (Worked competences CE39)
- Students must perform a compulsory group work (1 hour) and present it in class.
- will be given likewise 11 hours of lab practices in which will be employed at the classroom of computer science fundamentally. There will be carried out the application of methodologies and technologies dress in the theory, with application to concrete examples. The software to using will be SNAP and Geomtics between others. The pupils will have to realize likewise an individual memory of practices. (Worked competences, CE40 and CE41)
- There will be a visit (3hours) to the Territorial Research Institute (EIT) Mandatory (Employed Competencies, CE40)
- Tutorships in group (3 hous) in that it will be a question of solving the doubts raised in the subject
SCENARIO 1 There will be 2 hours of theory, 4 hours of practice and group tutoring via videoconference with the Microsoft Teams platform.
SCENARIO 2 The whole theory, 50% of the internships and group tutorials will be taught via videoconference with the Microsoft Teams platform. Students should exhibit through this same platform the group work done.
SCENARIO 3 All teaching will be done in a virtual way. IN THE THREE SCENARIOS and for the continuous evaluation of the students:
- The visit or, where appropriate, the delivery of the report on the EIT will take place after giving 50% of the agenda.
- The obligatory group work will be carried out after giving 75% of the agenda.
- The transfer of the internship report will take place at the end of the subject.
will be a final examination on the official date set by the center. The implementation of the practices is mandatory. Will require delivery of a final memory of practices, a lack of delivery of the same will be cause of suspense in the subject. The approved practices will be saved for successive calls.
It would be compulsory the realization of a work on the topic of the subject to indicate the professor, as well as their oral presentation.
For the calculation of the final note is necessary for the written test and the use of the practice is greater than 4.
test or tests, oral, and/or written: CE39 (40 %)
Work delivered and/or exposed: CE40, EC41 (15 %)
use of the practices: EC40 (35 %)
Visit to the IET: CE40 (10%)
The system described in the evaluation will be used both in the opportunity as ordinary in the extraordinary recovery.
Students who have been granted exemption from any of the teaching activities scheduled in accordance with Instruction 1/2017 of the General Secretariat, They must perform the practices autonomously and deliver the final memory. The work on the subject will have to be done individually. The visit to the EIT shall be replaced by a report explaining the work carried out by the EIT in the field of geomatics.
The matter consists of 3 credits, it supposes a dead-weight capacity for the pupil of 75 hours.
