Dear colleagues of the Atlas Linguistique Roman, Santiago de Compostela will host for the third time all the researchers of the ALiR, as it has done with thousands of pilgrims for centuries. The city will welcome you for some days with the purpose of giving a new impetus to our project and finishing the preparation of the next volume so that it is ready for publication.
Of course, you are already aware of this proposal after the Congress of Baia Mare (Romania) last September when we proposed to coincide our Congress with that of the Atlas Linguarum Europae, as it has already happened in the past, several years ago in Italy, In Saint-Vincet. But if this coincidence can be beneficial for both projects, on the other hand, this circumstance will force us to optimize the time and concentrate the activities.
The dates foreseen for the work of both Congresses are July 20, 21 and 22, 2017. The work of the ALE will focus on the day of the 20th and the morning of the 21st, and the work of the ALiR will take place during the afternoon of the 21 and the day of the 22.
Therefore, we need to know as quickly as possible the names of those people who will participate in the Congress. The registration deadline will be February 28th, but for administrative reasons we would be very grateful if you could send us your intention to participate before February 18, by filling out the registration form that you will find on the Congress website (http://www.usc.es/filrom/congresos/ALiR/inscription);You should indicate your intention to present one or more synthesis of the ALiR.
Participants of the Congress can arrive on June 19 and stay at the Residence “Burgo das Nacións” of the University of Santiago. Those interested in this possibility should cover the accommodation form on the congress website, indicating the date of arrival and departure.
The organization will provide all necessary information to participants who prefer to be housed in a hotel, but in that case they must assume all the expenses related to hotel nights. On the Congress website you will find some information about the recommended hotels.
On June 23 a cultural visit will take place during the morning for the participants who wish to participate.
You can find information about the schedules and prices of the buses that cover the journey from the airport to the city center of Santiago, and the indication of the most recommended stops. You will also find information about taxis from the airport.
Please use as much as possible the Congress web page for registration, various information, accommodation, comments and suggestions and, in general, for all communications with the organization.
Researchers who only participate in the ALiR Congress should cover the registration form for this conference, but those who wish to participate in the work of the ALE also are requested to fill out the form for this second symposium.
