Our Group, together with the Faculty of Chemistry and the Center for Research in Biological Chemistry and Molecular Materials (CiQUS) organizes outreach activities on the occasion of the closing of the International Year of Light 2015. Two lectures by Prof. Santi Nonell, from the Ramon Llull University (Barcelona) are planned:
"Light, Chemistry and Life"
Public outreach lecture on Thursday, February 4, at 1 p.m. in the Aula Magna of the Faculty of Chemistry, Santiago.
"Singlet Oxygen Photosensitisation in the Nanobiotech Era"
In this lecture, Prof. Nonell will present his latest research on Thursday, February 4, at 5 p.m. in the Seminar classroom of CiQUS, Campus Vida, Santiago.
The International Year of Light and Light-based Technologies 2015 is a global initiative adopted by the United Nations to highlight the importance of light and to raise awareness of how optical technologies promote sustainable development and provide solutions to worldwide challenges in energy, education, agriculture, communications and health. The International Year will be brought to an official close with a ceremony held over three days from 4-6 February 2016 in Mérida, Mexico.
