Santiago de Compostela was the place to hold the 18th National School of Molecular Materials (ENMM) from 20 to 24 March. CiQUS Principal Investigators Félix Freire, María Giménez, Diego Peña and Francisco Rivadulla have participated in its organisation.
Meeting point on functional molecular materials
The NSMM is a forum for learning and exchange ideas in the field of functional molecular materials and it is aimed at interested researchers and postgraduate students of Chemistry, Physics and Engineering. The goal of the NSMM is to train young researchers in the field of Molecular Materials and Nanotechnology. For five days at the Monasterio San Martín Pinario Hotel, lectures, specialised seminars and oral communications were given by various professors and researchers specialising in this area. Principal Investigator at CiQUS, Beatriz Pelaz was among the speakers and her talk was on "Efficient and intelligent nanotransporters".
The NSMM has been a success and very well received. It has been an attendance of around 180 participants at national level and with the presence of institutions such as the Institute of Nanoscience of the Community of Madrid, the Institute of Molecular Science of theValencia University and the Catalan Institute of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology, among others.
In addition to an intense and varied scientific programme, the event also featured various social activities, including a guided tour of Compostela.
