The objective of this course is to contribute to the improvement in grammatical competence of foreign students learning Spanish at Level A2/B1.
The specific objectives of the course are as follows:
a) Describe the main morphosyntactic properties of the three parts of speech studied: noun, adjective and verb.
b) Provide students with simple and understandable explanations on the grammatical issues examined.
c) Solve grammatical doubts of descriptive or normative type.
d) Study the value and functioning of the syntactic categories by means of representative examples of their use in specific discursive contexts.
e) Improve the level of linguistic competence in Spanish through grammatical exercises.

To achieve this goal, this subject -which will be completed with Practical Grammar 2- will focus on the different parts of speech: noun, adjective and verb, to explain their structure and morphosyntactic properties and, to a lesser extent, how they combine to form superior units.

FIRST OPPORTUNITY
There will be two types of evaluation:
1. Continuous evaluation
Students who opt for this type of evaluation must attend, at least, 80% of all class hours.
The evaluation will be continuous with two qualifying exercises in addition to the final exam:
a) Qualifying exercises. The specific dates on which these exercises will be carried out will be determined in advance. Weight: 30%
b) Final examination of a theoretical-practical nature on a date set by the Faculty Secretariat. Weight: 70%
If after receiving the results of the two exercises of the continuous assessment, the student was not interested in keeping them, they must indicate this, in writing, on the first page of the final exam. In this case, the evaluation will rely solely on the final exam, which will count as 100% of the grade.
2. Final evaluation. The final exam will be 100% of the grade and will include theoretical and practical questions about the contents of the course. This exam will be held on a date set by the Faculty Secretariat. This will be the evaluation method for:
a) Students who do not accredit, at least, 80% attendance to all class hours.
b) Students who have completed the three exercises of the continuous evaluation but renounce them.
SECOND OPPORTUNITY
The evaluation will be conducted exclusively through a final exam that will account for 100% of the grade and will include theoretical and practical questions about the contents of the course. This exam will be held on a date set by the Faculty Secretariat.
STUDENTS WITH AN ATTENDANCE WAIVER
For students who obtain a class attendance waiver and accredit it duly, the evaluation is limited to a final exam on the contents of the program that will account for 100% of the grade and will be held on a date set by the Secretariat of the Faculty. This evaluation system will be applied in the first as in the second opportunity.
