The Basic Objectives of this First Subject of the Module of Systematic and Integrated Knowledge of the Artistic Fact are:
- Knowledge and Understanding of Basic Concepts relation with Art as Human Historical and Social Phenomenon.
- Knowledge and Understanding of the Basic Concepts of Art Theory and its Development.
- Knowledge of the Multiple Approaches and Forms to approach the Artistic Fact to understand it as Phenomenon or Analysis Object.

The Student will be able to understand the basic Concepts relation with the Art as a Human, Historical and Social Phenomenon. He will know and understand the basic Concepts of the Art Theory and its Development and he will be familiarized with the Multiple Approaches and Forms to approach the Artistic Fact to understand it as Phenomenon or Analysis Object.
Also, the Student will train to develop the Ability of Analysis, Reflection and Critic, getting Tools of Juice and working his Capacity of Abstraction, Discernment and Relation.
This will make Effective in the Acquisition of Basic Skills that needs a Subject of Theoretical Type as:
- To develop a Capacity of Reading and Understanding of Texts and Images.
- To know how to elaborate Comments of Ideas.
- To compound and to draft Texts, Comments and Reviews.
- To use and to cite Bibliography and the Specific Means of the Discipline.
- To manage the Scientific and Technical Vocabulary of the Subject and the Discipline.
The Teaching of the Subject will base on a Great Part in the Theoretical Exposition of the Magisterial Classes, basic in a Subject of these Characteristics.
Also, it will join the Interactive Teaching that will consist of basically in Training Workshops oriented to the Acquisition of Capacities and Skills in relation with the Discipline, and in Seminars on Basic Themes of the Art Theory and the Reflection on the Discipline that will be approached through the original Sources.
The Objective of the Workshops will have the Acquisition of the next Capacities:
- Understanding of Concepts and Comment of Ideas in relation with the Art, the Theoretical Corpus and the History of the Discipline.
- Oral Exposition on the own Contents of the Subject and the Discipline.
- Composition and draft of Texts, Comments and Reviews on the own Contents of the Subject and the Discipline.
- Appropriate and Precise Management of the Scientific and Technical Vocabulary of the Subject and the Discipline.
- Development of the Ability of Reading and Understanding of the Image as Artistic Fact and Cultural Symptom.
The global mark of the subject will be determined in its 100% by continuous assessment, taking into consideration the following formula throughout the course: practical and theoretical written exams of the contents of the expository and interactive classes represent 70% of the final mark; the remaining 30% can be reached through the tracking of the knowledge of the interactive classes´contents, the development -if established- of individual projects and the participation of the student in the lecture room. Furthermore, according to how course develop, readings, exercises and students exposures could be added.
For those students who access the second time in the month of July exam will obtain their mark from a written exam (theoretical and practical) of all the contents of the expository and interactive classes given since the beginning of the course.
Following the Instruction Nº 1/2017 of Secretaría Xeral, students who are exempt from attendance in certain situations will be evaluated with a specific final exam (100%). Exemption from attendance must be authorized in advance by the university.
Grades will be shaped being 10 the maximum mark.
TIME PRESENCIAL OF THE STUDENT: 47 hours.
Expositive Session: 30 hours.
Interactive Session: 15 hours.
Personal Tutorship: 2 hours.
TIME OF STUDY And PERSONAL ACTIVITY: 103 hours.
Individual autonomous study or in group: 60 hours.
Readings recommended, activities of library and similar: 28 hours.
Preparation of oral presentations, debates and similar: 8 hours.
Other tasks proposed by the professors: 7 hours
The assistance to the expositive and interactive sessions is basic for the follow-up and superación of the subject.
The student will have to realize all the activities recommended by the teacher (analysis of cases, review of bibliography and practical exercises) to surpass successfully the subject.
The material will put to disposal of the student through the Virtual Campus of the USC.
It is recommended to have Basic Knowledge of Art History, Literature and Philosophy.
To have the Ability to read in other Modern Languages, apart from the Spanish and Galician, and in a Special Way in English.
The course materials will be made available to students through the Virtual Campus of USC.
Other complementary activities for a more complete development of the subject: practices of field, visits to museums and exhibitions, assistance to conferences, cycles of cinema, etc
