Key objectives:
Know and appreciate the importance that the establishment of a space and a regulatory framework of specific communication policies.
Particular objectives:
Addressing EU audiovisual policy , both from a diachronic perspective, and in their current stadium.
Theme 1. The notion of communication policies and the semantic field that defines it. Audiovisual policy and its field of competence.
Theme 2. The concept of cultural and creative industries in the community context.
Theme 3. Genesis of the concept of communication policies: The implementation of communication policies.
Theme 4. Oligopolistic distribution of information. The role of communication in the international economic structure.
Theme 5. Agents of communication policies: the political crisis and the crisis of the public. The political and administrative reorganization of space.
Theme 6. The current economic context of audiovisual policies: globalization, state and communication policies. Community liberalization policy since the 80s onwards.
Theme 7. The audiovisual policy and industrial policy strategy: European Technology Initiative. The phenomenon of concentration. Convergence.
Theme 8. Other trends of audiovisual policies: The crisis of public radio and television services in Europe.
Theme 9. Redefinition of regulation tasks. The decentralization of communication systems.
Theme 10. The recent political action towards audiovisual: The European Digital Agenda, Creative Europe and the MEDIA program.
NOTE: The contents are identical in the two contemplated teaching modalities, face-to-face and virtual.

1) Learning to delineate the specific tasks assigned to a policy of audiovisual communication.
2) Contextualization of Community audiovisual policy decisive economic context.
3) Recognizing the political actions on the audiovisual framed in a project of Digital Society.
NOTE: The skills to be achieved are the same in the two teaching modalities, face-to-face and virtual.
In addition to the theoretical sessions , weekly will be addressed in the laboratory sessions , a reading that permit the application of previously developed nuclear issues.
NOTE: Remote activities are planned through the Virtual Campus. In this case, teaching will be taught synchronously. To track them, a delivery schedule will be carried out.
The evaluation will be continuous training (30%) combined, in a complementary way, with a compulsory final test (70%), on both occasions.
If the face-to-face examination is not possible, it will be carried out remotely.
In case of exemption from class attendance, a personalized work plan will be established with the teacher of the subject.
I. student class work: 48 hours.
a. Presentation and explanation of topics: 24 h.
b . Work with documents: analysis, synthesis and discussion: 24 h.
II. Student personal work: 99 hours.
c . Individual self- study or group: 60 h.
d . Search records and preparation of support material ( images , audio, etc. ): 20h.
e. Recommended reading: 19 h.
Contingency plan
In view of the three scenarios that the USC contemplates due to the health context, the teaching methodology will be gradually adapted by combining face-to-face and virtual or only virtual didactic initiatives, through the virtual campus (in the third scenario it will be all virtual) .
Regarding the evaluation system, if the face-to-face exam is not possible, it will be done remotely. Furthermore, in addition, the evaluation will be continuous, through different tasks scheduled during the semester.
