The sessions dedicated to the lectures will be used to introduce the basic contents of the topics, emphasizing the especially relevant aspects and the relations between them. Depending on the scenario determined by the evolution of health conditions, the sessions will be held as follows:
- Scenario 1: Face-to-face.
- Scenario 2: Face-to-face/virtual (synchronous/asynchronous) depending on the guidelines established by each center.
- Scenario 3: Virtual (combining synchronous and asynchronous) through institutional platforms (MS Teams and virtual campus).
The sessions will be developed in the schedule published by the center.
- Scenario 1: classroom-presential (synchronous).
- Scenario 2: classroom-presential or virtual (synchronous/asynchronous) depending on the guidelines established by the dean's office of each center or the rector's office for this scenario and the health measures established at that time.
- Scenario 3: virtual (combining synchronous / asynchronous) through institutional platforms (MS Teams and virtual campus).
In the interactive sessions in small groups the students apply the theoretical concepts. These include case analyses, commentary on readings, discussion of questions posed by the teaching staff and the preparation and presentation of works (individually or in collaboration).
Depending on the scenario determined by the evolution of health conditions, the sessions will be held as follows:
- Scenario 1: classroom-presential (synchronous).
- Scenario 2: classroom-presential or virtual (synchronous/asynchronous) depending on the guidelines established by the dean's office of each center or the rector's office for this scenario and the health measures established at that time.
- Scenario 3: virtual (combining synchronous / asynchronous) through institutional platforms (MS Teams and virtual campus).
The sessions will be programmed in the schedule published by the center.
For asynchronous activities and for the delivery of tasks, a mailbox will be set up in the virtual campus with the deadline for delivery.
The teaching staff of each group will monitor the attendance of the students and their participation in the sessions, whether they are in person or virtual.
The students' personal work activities include, in addition to the time dedicated to study, the reading of the material provided by the teaching staff, the search for information and the preparation of individual or collaborative works.
In the tutorials, teachers will orient the students and will help to solve doubts and problems that the students face in the learning process. They will be used as a feedback channel on the results Depending on the scenario determined by the evolution of the health conditions, the tutorials will be carried out as follows
- Scenario 1: presential and/or virtual
- Scenario 2 and scenario 3: Virtual, combining synchronous (individual or group through MS Teams) and asynchronous (virtual campus or email).
Tutorials (presential or virtual) will take place in the usual schedule published by the teaching staff.
The development of the course will be carried out with the support of the teaching virtual classroom created for this purpose in the Moodle platform and that will be operative in any of the foreseen scenarios.
The assessment system will take into account all the activities developed by the students: resolution and active participation in the analysis of cases, debate and commentary on readings, articles or press news, presentation and exhibition of works, completion of questionnaires on theoretical and practical content, etc.
"In the case of fraudulent exercises or exams, the provisions of the Regulations for the Evaluation of Students' Academic Performance and for the Revision of Qualifications shall apply.
There are two opportunities to overcome the course. Students who do not pass the course on the first opportunity will be entitled to a second one, which will be the one that appears on their academic record if the qualification achieved is higher.
The assessment system for these two opportunities is set out below:
First ordinary opportunity. Continuous assessment, combined with a final exam, is envisaged.
A) Continuous assessment: resolution and active participation in case analysis, reading discussion, completion and presentation of works, questionnaires and other activities related to interactive and expository classes. Weight in the final grade: 50%. The relationship of the different activities that can be evaluated throughout the course, their weighting and follow-up will be indicated in the teaching guide of the course that will be published in the virtual classroom at the beginning of the course.
In this part the following competences will be assessed: CB1, CB2, CB3, CB4, CG3, CT3, CT6, CT8, CT10, D11.
B) Final examination of contents. This exam is mandatory. Weight in the final grade: 50%.
In this part the following competences will be assessed: CB1, CB5, CG1, A4, A5. Depending on the scenario determined by the evolution of health conditions, the final exam will be:
- Scenario 1: Final exam in person
- Scenario 2: Final exam in person or by telematics (virtual campus or MS Teams), depending on the guidelines established by the deanery of each center or the rector's office for this scenario and the health measures established at that time.
- Scenario 3: Final telematic exam (virtual campus or MS Teams).
-
In order to add up B and A, students must obtain at least a 2 out of 5 in the theoretical exam. The added mark must be equal or superior to 5 points out of 10 to pass the course.
Second extraordinary opportunity for recovery:
The same assessment system will be applied as at the first opportunity, that is, a new final examination of contents will be carried out, with the weighting established for the first opportunity, which will be added to the score achieved in the continuous evaluation.
The assessment system described above also applies to repeat students.
In accordance with the USC Permanence Regulations for Bachelor's and Master's studies (Normativa de Permanencia vigente en la USC para los estudios de Grado y Máster (art. 5.2), mere attendance and/or participation in any of the activities subject to evaluation will mean that the student's final grade will be different from Not Attended.
Following the Instruction Nº 1/2017 of Secretaría Xeral, students who are exempt from attendance in certain situations will be assessed with a specific final exam that will count for 100% of the grade (100%). Depending on the scenario determined by the evolution of health conditions, the final exam will be either in person or online.
This is a 6 ETCS course and each credit is equivalent to 25 hours.
Hours will be distributed in the following way:
- Hours of theoretical and interactive class, tutoring and assessment in the modality that is determined: 60 hours
- Students personal work: 90 hours.
No previous knowledge is required to take this course.
In order to maximize learning, it is convenient that the students carry out all the activities proposed by the teaching staff, regularly attend theoretical and practical classes (either in person or virtually, depending on the scenario determined by the evolution of health conditions), and use the tutorials.
Contingency plan
As stated in the programming, the teaching methodology will be modified according to the scenarios determined by the evolution of health conditions.
In scenario 1 (adapted normality), teaching will be classroom presential (face-to-face).
In scenario 2 (social distancing), the expository/interactive sessions will be carried out according to the guidelines established by the deanery of each center or the rector's office for that scenario and the health measures that are established at that time.
In scenario 3 (closure of the facilities), all sessions will be virtual (combining synchronous and asynchronous activities).
With respect to the assessment system, in scenario 1 the final examination will be classroom presential, in scenario 2 it will be classroom presential or telematic depending on the guidelines established by the deanery of each center or the rector's office for this scenario and the health.
