Degree competences to which contributes the subject:
- Contribution to the understanding of the cognitive system from an interdisciplinary perspective in the field of economics.
- Strengthening the skills to develop coherent arguments in support of a certain position, applying previously learned concepts.
- Development of research and oral communication skills.
Specific competences of the subject:
- Study of the main objectives of government economic policy and basic macroeconomic policy instruments.
- Knowledge of the tools needed to analyze the process of making economic policy decisions, interpreting the possible causes and consequences of political actions in the economic field.
- Analysis of economic policy applications in various contexts, encouraging critical-evaluative capacity of the student.
The subject consists of expositive, interactive and tutorial hours.
EXPOSITIVE: In these hours, the syllabus’ contents will be presented.
INTERACTIVE: In some hours, students will do a presentation of a topic related to the subject. In order to prepare it, texts related to the syllabus will be analyzed and discussed in class. Some texts will deal with current issues related to the government’ acts in economic policy, to approach the students to the real application context of the policies.
In other hours, different activities will be done: discussions, evaluation and tests on selected topics.
TUTORIALS: Tutorials allow the teacher to detect the weak points and to guide the student in the training process.
A guide with details on academic planning will be edited at the beginning of the course.
The classroom teaching is supplemented with the materials and information to be offered through the virtual classroom.
60% of the final grade will come from the assessment of the theoretical contents.
For assessing the theoretical contents, there will be a final exam.
The remaining 40% of the final grade comes from the assessment of the practice activities.
STUDENTS WITH EXEMPTION FROM THE REQUIREMENT OF ATTENDING CLASSES
80% of the final grade will come from a final exam.
The remaining 20% of the final grade comes from the assessment of an oral presentation.
Work in classroom (45 h.):
- Expositive hours 23 h.
- Interactive hours 13 h.
- Evaluation and tutorials 9 h.
Personal work (68 h.). It includes:
- Personal study; writing of exercises, conclusions and other works; other works in computer and recommended readings, activities in library or similar.
Attending the sessions is recommended.
It is advisable completing and improving the class notes by means of the recommended bibliography.
Ii is recommended to follow the indications that are included in the expanded ACADEMIC GUIDE and in the VIRTUAL CLASSROOM classroom of the subject.
CONTINGENCY PLAN (COVID-19)
The teaching methodology and the assessment system will be maintained in any scenario. In the scenario of online learning, we will use the virtual classroom and the application TEAMS.
