The Students must know the Basic Concepts and the Theoretical Fundamentals of Geography; the Place that occupies in the Set of the Sciences; that they can assess the main contributions of each one of the great Stages of Geographical Thought Evolution, relation them with the Global Tendencies of the Scientific and Philosophical Thought, that they are conscious of the Scientific and Cultural Tradition in which is registered the Contemporary Geography.

2- The Fundamental Concepts of Geography.
3- The Traditional Concept of Geography: (I) the Classical Times.
4- The Traditional Concept of Geography: (II) the Renaissance and Modern Period.
5- The Origins of Contemporary Geography. The University Institutionalization of Geography.
6- The Classical Times of Contemporary Geography: the National Geographical Schools.
7- Alternatives to the Classical Geography: (I) Theoretical-Quantitative and Perception Geographies.
8- Alternatives to the Classical Geography: (II) Radical Geographies and Humanist Geography.
9- Current Tendencies of the Geographical Thought.
10- Evolution Factors of Geographical Science. Geography like Culture and like Professional Activity.

- To know the Explanatory Models of the Evolution of Scientific Knowledge, in Particular of Geography.
- To have clear the Basic Concepts of it and the Key Problems; to know how to apply them to different Scales.
- To identify the main Stages of the Historical Evolution of Geography, with particular Attention to the Contemporary Period.
- To know how to interpret Texts of Geographers of Different Periods and Schools.
- To learn how to realize Reviews of Scientific Works, in this Case Works on History of Geographical Thought.
-Theoretical Classes (Expositive Teaching) and Practices (Interactive Teaching) in the Class and Personal Work of the Student out of it (Reading and Review of Reports and some Book on Theoretical Problems, Basic Concepts or Historical Evolution of Geography). It will be an Exit to the Field.
- Final Exam (Written ): 70%
- Works realizet during Academic Period: 15%
- Activities fullfiled in the Interactive Teaching and Field Practice: the remaining 15%.
The Student must pass all the three previous Items.
The Evaluation criteria will be the same in Regular (January) and Extraordinary (June/July) Exams.
It is what corresponds to the Module ECTS, according to the Memory of the Geography Degree.
- Regular Attendance to the Classes, Participation in them and Continuum Work along the Academic Four Month Period.
- Reading of the Recommended Bibliography.
