The objective of the External Practices is to complete the student's academic training through interrelation with the labor and business world, thus improving both the scientific and technical training acquired in the compulsory and optional subjects of the degree, as well as the transversal competences and personal skills from the student.
It is therefore about incorporating the knowledge and skills acquired in the Master, practical knowledge in companies in the sector.
The supervised practices are developed in companies and institutions in the agri-food sector and / or companies and institutions related to food processing. The student will carry out internships in an entity / company with which the USC has previously established a collaboration agreement, in accordance with the provisions of the Regulations of External Academic Practices of the USC.
The activities carried out by the student in the company will be properly coordinated and must be carried out in any of the areas related to Food Processing:

Individual tutoring
In internships in companies, under the supervision of the external tutor, the student must develop the training project established in the internship agreement. The duration and dates of the practices in company will be able to be altered by the incidences produced by the pandemic COVID-19. In these cases, the Academic Commission of the Master will arbitrate the appropriate solutions in accordance with the instructions issued by the university's management team, and always taking into account the recommendations and / or instructions issued by the competent health authorities.
To carry out personalized tutoring and student care, as well as to maintain direct communication between the student, company tutor and university tutor, the contact will be made through electronic means when necessary (Ms. Teams or similar).
The evaluation of the skills acquired during the completion of the External Practices will be carried out in accordance with the provisions of the general regulations for external practices of the University of Santiago de Compostela and the specific regulations of the Faculty of Sciences:

75% of the grade will be assigned by the external tutor based on the score of the items that appear in the corresponding annex. The remaining 25% of the grade will be assigned by the academic tutor after evaluating the final memory presented by the student and based on the items listed in the corresponding annex.

In cases of fraudulent performance of exercises or tests, the provisions of the “Regulations for evaluating student academic performance and reviewing grades” will apply.
The training activity comprises 18 ECTS credits, distributed as follows in accordance with the current study plan:
Practices: 360 contact hours (14.4 ECTS credits).
Individual tutoring: 15 contact hours and 15 hours of student work (1.2 ECTS credits).
Memory of External Practices: 60 hours of student work (2.4 ECTS credits).
Total: 375 contact hours and 75 hours of student work (18 ECTS credits).

PLAN DE CONTINGENCIA COVID-19
METODOLOGÍA
La duración y fechas de las prácticas en empresa se podrán ver alteradas por las incidencias producidas por la pandemia COVID-19. En estos casos la Comisión Académica del Máster arbitrará las soluciones apropiadas de acuerdo con las instrucciones que en su caso dicte el equipo de dirección de la universidad, y siempre teniendo en cuenta las recomendaciones y/o instrucciones dictadas por las autoridades sanitarias competentes.
Para la realización de tutorías personalizadas y atención al alumno, así como para mantener una comunicación directa tanto entre estudiante, tutor de empresa y tutor universitario, el contacto se realizará a través del medios electrónicos cuando sea preciso (Ms. Teams o semejante).
SISTEMA DE EVALUACIÓN
Plan de contingencia para actividades docentes en remoto en función de los diferentes escenarios sanitarios fruto de la evolución de la pandemia COVID-19:
El sistema de evaluación será exactamente el mismo independientemente de la modalidad de docencia empleada (presencial o virtual, en los escenarios 1 al 3), con la única diferencia de que las actividades de evaluación se realizarán, según establezcan las autoridades competentes, o bien presencialmente en el aula o bien en remoto mediante los medios telemáticos disponibles en la USC, preferiblemente Campus Virtual y plataforma MS Teams.
Para los casos de realización fraudulenta de ejercicios o pruebas será de aplicación lo establecido en la “Normativa de evaluación del rendimiento académico de los estudiantes y de revisión de las calificaciones”.
