To use this service you must have a University Identity Card (UIC) or an external user card issued by the BUSC.
The library catalogue provides information on the availability of the work and the type of loan, which you will be able to see after entering your credentials.
USC University Community (teaching and research staff, administrative and service staff, students)
- Teaching and research staff, and students enrolled in thesis stage
- Works available for loan: Up to 100 works, for a period of 2 months (Teaching 4 renewals, students in thesis 3 renewals).
- Textbooks on short-term loan: Up to 3 works, for a period of 10 days (2 renewals).
- Maximum number of materials on loan: 100 works.
- Master's degree students and administrative and service staff
- Works available for loan: Up to 25 works, for a period of 25 days (3 renewals).
- Textbooks on short-term loan: Up to 3 works, for a period of 10 days (2 renewals).
- Maximum number of materials on loan: 25 works.
- Degree, 4th cycle and ongoing training students
- Works available for loan: Up to 20 works, for a period of 20 days (3 renewals).
- Textbooks on short-term loan: Up to 3 works, for a period of 10 days (2 renewals).
- Maximum number of materials on loan: 20 works.
People outside the university community
- Alumni (ex-teaching and research staff, ex-administrative and service staff and ex-students of the USC university community).
- Works available for loan: Up to 5 works, for a period of 15 days (2 renewals).
- Textbooks on short-term loan: Excluded from home lending.
- Authorized External Users
- Works available for loan: Up to 3 works, for a period of 10 days (2 renewals).
- Textbooks on short-term loan: Excluded from home lending.
- Guests (who will consult the collection on a one-off basis).
- They will only be able to use the consultation service in the reading room, excluding home lending.
People outside the USC university community who do not have a University Identity Card (TUI) and wish to use the loan service will be issued with an Authorized External User Card from the BUSC.
To do so, they must physically present the following documentation at any BUSC loan service point:
- Photograph.
- Original ID card.
- Signed Data Protection Form.
- Proof of being in one of the following situations:
- Being a former member of the USC university community.
- Currently be a member of the teaching and research staff, technical and administrative staff, or a student at a university.
- Be an International Baccalaureate student (Xunta de Galicia agreement).
- Belong to an entity with which the USC has signed an agreement for the use of the service.
Upon request from interested parties, the BUSC will issue a certificate valid for one year, renewable. This certificate is personal and non-transferable.
If the above circumstances cannot be proven, interested parties may submit a request via email to biblioteca.xeral.servizos [at] usc.gal (biblioteca[dot]xeral[dot]servizos[at]usc[dot]gal), justifying the need to use the funds through a loan.
